Small friendly Pousada just out of Paraty. This place was beautifully set up with lovely gardens and rooms. The owners where very hospitable and provided an excellent breakfast. A very peaceful place to stay. Best if you have a hire car as we did as it's a bit out of town.

It's a really cozy and charming place. The owners are very hospitable and make you feel at home. The garden in front of it brings a peaceful sensation.I strongly recommend it if you're up to unforgetable vacations!

You could say that we accidentally found this lovely pousada - and are very glad that we did. We stayed three rainy days in Paraty and it would have not been such a nice experience without staying at Recanto de Serra. It is a small, four apartment pousada about six kilometers out of the historic centre of Paraty. We had thought about renting a scooter at Paraty, thus we did not mind the distance. Only problem with that being that there are no scooters for rent in Paraty... 

We got a taxi from the bus station to the pousada, which was quite expensive (36 reals) - as they are in Paraty. Once we got into the destination, the pousada's owner couple was there to meet us and welcome us. We got our room immediately and Tassiana (manager) said she will give us a map and brief intro into Paraty once we first rested a bit.

Later on, we learnt about the sights in town, the bus/van connection between pousada and the historic centre and everything else we needed. Tassiana and her husband we wonderfully helpful and would have done much more, if we needed. She also speaks perfect English, which is a nice exception in Brasil. You could not have asked for more from them!

Rooms are nice and neat, yet simple. A fridge in the room is a plus in the heat of Brasil. Bathroom was clean and shower worked fine. Each room has its own table and hammock on the terrace and the breakfast is served there, at the time you wish. With the breakfast you get good rolls and bread, cheese and ham, fresh fruits, excellent coffee and the best: fresh natural juice!

All in all, even though the pousada is located outside the town the bus/van connections (3.40 BRL, about once per hour) worked well enough and the pousada itself and the service was extremely good.
