Guarapari

Although the pousada is not too far from the city, its surroundings made us feel like we were in the middle of the jungle. We started our day by enjoying an amazing complimentary breakfast on the terrace overlooking the incredible elephant shaped rock and the fresh water spring pool that we later took a dip in to cool off! We hiked to the top of the elephant rock where we were able to see great views of the city and later on the owner of the pousada, Martin, offered us a day tour package that included taking us about 40 minutes away from the pousada to amazing waterfalls that we were able to swim in! When living in the city of Rio de Janiero, a little escape into the wilderness is essential and we will be back for more rest and relaxtion and soon as possible! There is nothing better than waking up in a place where you can actually smell the fresh air!

A little hidden paradise!

This place is amazing, the view is stunning! You are in the jungle but really close to the beaches and the center of Guarapari! Martin and Alessandra are really welcoming!! It's the perfect place to go relax and to eat great food! They also serve special Quebec plates !! I recomend this place to any type of persons :)

Perfect

We stayed at Pedra do Elefante after a week in Rio on our way up the coast. This is a great way to spend a few days relaxing, with the rooms of the hostel overlooking Elefante Rock and a creek lined with granite boulders with pools you can float about in.

The pousada is about 10 mins from Guarapari with a taxi costing about R$20- $30 or you can call the hostel and they may be able to pick you up. If you take a taxi, make sure you understand and negotiate the price in advance (check with the Pousada if you're unsure). We got badly ripped off by our taxi driver on the way in.

Bring cash for accommodation and meals - they only took local cards during our stay.  A giant, good-quality Brazilian breakfast is included in the room rate and lunch and dinner are also cooked by the owner Martin if you want to eat in their restaurant. These are delicious and reasonably priced (R$15-20) - try the French-canadian Poutine! There is no WiFi or communal kitchen there though. 

There are plenty of little informal tours to do with Martin or some of his local friends depending on what you're interested in. Martin, his wife and the staff were very helpful and friendly. This is a fantastic place to stay to get away from the hussle and bussle of the cities, without having to get too far off the beaten track. 

A relaxing getaway not too far from Guarapari

We just had a lunch, the owner was very friendly, explained everything about the place.
They offer Canadian food, asia food è Brazilian as well,the price is medium.
There are many activities as hiking and a stroll between waterfall.
Beautiful landscapes, we did not stay but seems worthwhile !

Very friendly, good food

The hotel is actually planted in the middle of nature in a small valley overlooking the sea, 15 minutes from Guarapari. Thanks to this extraordinary couple (Martin and Alessandra) who managed to bring this simple but very well-kept place out of the ground, where you eat excellent dishes (Canadian and Brazilian).

Nature and gastronomy!!

This place is simply amazing, I would return anytimes I can! Owners are so friendly and workaholic ! They give there everything to make visitors happy and comfortable!  I love it so much, you guys must go there if you travel in Brasil!

Paradise

A very warm welcome awaits you at the hostel in a beautiful and wild setting dominated by the giant elephant. Martin and Alesandra form a shock team to maintain the estate. You will no doubt encounter, especially on the weekends, locals who come for a few beers and are tempted by the map offering excellent dishes for all tastes. The stay there is relaxing, soothing, the breakfast is fresh and complete. Martin is an amazing character. A place to discover absolutely.

In a stunning setting

Thank you to Martin and Alessandra for their warm welcome. Very good times, an enjoyable calm, cleanliness and culinary inspiration from the owner of the house are falling down! Below flows a river where I enjoyed being able to read the sun on a rock in the middle of the water under the calming eye of the elephant. Go there with your eyes closed!

A little corner of paradise

The hostel is new and has everything you need for a good stay, with the best view from the terraces, the view from the elephant stone that gives it its name, it is beautiful with plates around it and three natural pools with fish. Martin and Alessandra are the owners of the place and try to give you all the convenience, you can have lunch there if you want every day there is a menu. The breakfast is included in the price and consists of natural juices, fresh fruit (piña, platano, guajáb), Brazilian coffee and buns with jamones or eggs. You can also help Martin cut bananas.
