Chulumani is only mentioned briefly in Lonely Planets South America book. This has probably to do with the insane bus ride from La Paz, but what a reward when you arrive! This place is the REAL Bolivia and I only saw one other gringo in the 3 days I stayed there. The host Javier is so welcoming and knowlegedable about the area with several recommendations for different hikes (he even has a "Hiking dog" for keeping you company on the treks). On top of this, Javier cooks the Best breakfast of South America (I've travelled in South america for 2 months). 100% recommended. I hope I can visit the place again some time.
