Excellent place at a good budget, really happy with our stay here. Quite central in La Paz so easy to get around, short walk to the cable cars. 

Affordable and clean, we had our own room with a private bathroom. Recommended for sure, staff are friendly and good amenities plus breakfast was included.

I decided to visit La Paz and chose it because of its location, very central not only for tours of the city, but also to make trips to the interior, as it is about 15 minutes from the bus terminal.The rooms were very clean and the bed very comfortable, the place is very quiet despite the traffic around, consists of a very comfortable living area and generally satisfied with the attention, we will definitely return.

Central location, where you can find cash registers, restaurants, entertainment. went with my family and we stayed in the family suite, very comfortable and with a good view of the city! excellent service Don Fernando, delicious breakfast!!!

Good location, cozy design and good customer service.

The best thing about the Onkel Inn is its cleanliness, it accommodates me with my partner and we enjoy it very much, the beds are good, something very important for a good rest. As it is so central you can stroll through the main attractions of the city, the tourist area of Sagarnaga Street and the witch market, in addition it is two blocks from the purple and sky cable car stations, thus connecting the whole city and even the airport comfortably.

Centric, clean and excellent care.

In La Paz what I liked most was the location of the place because it is in the center of the city very close to the tourist circuit, ATMs, Telefericos and supermarkets. the attention of the very friendly staff, the very complete breakfast and the rooms and bathrooms in very good condition. There are no other guests and therefore the place seems very quiet and perfect for me to rest. definitely return with another group. thank you very much.

Visit my aunt in La Paz, Uyuni, Copacabana and El Alto.

They charge about 10 bucks the hour, which in Bolivia is a little high, but still better than going to the city (that is 40 minutes away and at night can be very risky). Besides the poor ventilation, it is very quiet and comfortable. I recomend to chose the shared bedroom because it is cheaper and 99% of the time you are alone (no one besides you is there). 
I recommend to the owners to have some more play-station games, so time goes faster. 

Comfortable but poor

I rented a pod for me and my boyfriend during a very long lay over at El Alto. You Pay by the hour, as it’s meant for people who have long layovers. The rooms are small and poorly ventilated, and there is no bathroom within the hostel (you have to go out and use the public airport washroom). But the bunk beds were comfortable and the space was exactly what we needed for our layover. There is a TV in the pod, but I believe you have to pay for it’s use. El Alto airport is about 40min drive from downtown La Paz and drunk driving is a very real issue in Bolivia (our driver was drunk when we arrived earlier in the month late at night), which is why we decided to camp out at the airport, instead of venturing back into the city and returning much later that night for our flight. This is the only hotel in, or next to the airport. From what I could tell, every other option is at least a 30min drive away. 

The pods are nothing fancy. You should keep your expectations low. But, I was so happy for the bed and private space, instead of camping out on a bench in the airport for more than 12 hours.

We arrived at 01:30 am on Feb. 5, 2019 at LPB La Paz, El Alto Airport. Our local friend had made our reservation at Onkel Inn at the airport for a room for 2 adults, for 400 bs. total. Upon our arrival from Lima, Peru, we were sleepy, exhausted, and feeling dizzy due to the altitude of approx. 4,000m, or 13,100'. 

A terrible welcome by an unfriendly male front staff, who said there were no reservation of ours and said there were rooms for a total of 600 bs. instead of 400 bs. we had confirmed for. We had no choice but to stay to protect our schedule for our trip. Bathroom wasn't there but outside of the inn. Yes, we had to use the airport bathroom nearby. Air conditionar was working only on the isle. Our rooms were tiny, which we could stand, but especially my room was like a sauna. I was dehydrated, hot and above all I could not sleep or rest. It was like a hell on the very first day of Bolivia. 

By the way, we had visited Bolivia every year in the past four years and it was our fifth. Oh boy, we were wrong to try this accommodation. They definitely take advantage of tired visitors who are not used to the altitude, and have no choice but eager to get into bed. The charge may be expensive for the service but could've been acceptable, had they provided reasonable humane conditions. I feel we were scammed. We will visit Bolivia again but will NEVER use this facility! Be aware!

Onkel Inn at LPB El Alto Aeropuerto location where we stayed was nothing but scam!

Pros: most staff are kind, except a lady with glasses

Cons: noisy, wifi doesn't work most of the time. But, biggest problem is:

The inn did not give me the room i booked as shown on picture on booking.com. Before i arrived i called and they said yes the room is ready i can come right now, my room is upstairs. But when i arrived they said my room is not ready and they gave me a room downstairs right next to kitchen.  Its so noisy that i couldn't sleep at all. The 2nd day they said i could move upstairs,  but still not the room i reserved as shown in picture.  Even though i saw people checked out from the room  i reserved they said it's not available (they lied, because i saw other people booked that room on the spot that evening) and forced me to take another similar but smaller room with less windows upstairs, not the one i booked on picture. Again the next day the room i booked was available but they kept saying they were expecting "new bookings" (meaning my booking is not as important as the  "new bookings" they expect) 

Upon complaining with booking.com the hostel still refused to do anything,  but thankfully after sending them the pictures booking.com gave me a small compensation.

Don't stay at this dishonest place

We stayed here for a week with my girlfriend.Good price, good location, good accommodation, good recommendation from the team and last but not least, the people are friendly!The place is clean and pleasant, very recommended.Onkel Inn is close to cable car, shops, attractions and in a very safe area.
