A beautiful, peaceful place to spend 7 days or more--this place does not disappoint. I was one of few English speakers, and they made me feel very welcome. The food is incredible. The whole place runs so smoothly. The treatments and spa are lovely (get ready for co-ed nudity). Yoga classes are top-notch. The hotel is spotless. I did a 7 day panchakarma and was so sad to leave.

Worth the travel from Los Angeles!

Great Ayurvedic offerings, great therapists, nice rooms, delicious healthy food. You can feel comfortable and content around here. It's just the perfect place to do something good for yourself.

A place to feel good

My first time was at Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof, with my mother. We are more often in wellness/healthcare hotels, but this hotel is definitely something special. From the first second you can feel the great warmth of the staff and the high, professional standard of holistic healthcare. Ayurveda is practiced here at the highest level, at all levels - the treatments, the incredibly delicious food and the inspiring framework with yoga, meditation, etc.

It's all right here.

Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof is located near Kufstein, in a small but charming village and surrounded by an exceptional area of fabulous hiking opportunites. Very pretty and many wonderful views. As to the resort:

Pro's:
- excellent Ayurveda doctor: Mrs Rajat Vashisht. Friendly and highly competent. Cannot comment on her husband who equally is practicing as we were allocated to his wife. 
- lovely garden grounds for chilling
- nice indoor pool area
- friendly staff throughout
- despite shortcomings, relaxing and we enjoyed a few lovely hikes in the neighbourhood and not to be missed

Con's:
- the Panchakarma package is not worth the travel nor the money, other than the two consultations with Mrs Vashisht, which again, were excellent.
- Massages: mediocre except two or three; big differences in quality and tired staff who seemed to give treatment one after the other.
- Food: not differentiating individual Doshas when on a Panchakarma detox; all tasty but by day three - tastes all the same. Never been to a Panchakarm detox where on the last day you get a fully normal meal: we had offered cake! the afternoon before our last day; wine and a heavy meal on the last day.  Totally incomprehensible. Breakfast area for those not on detox, looked quite ok.
Mrs Vashisht is very competent in nutritional advise, however this is not followed in the menu.
 - Rooms: it would have been a reason to leave on day one. We booked the most expansive one to ensure we have best quality. Far from it. Though spacious, the suite was dark and gloomy with-well lived furniture and so not the top Austrian quality one knows from other well appointed hotels in Austria. Fuerchterlich.

- The hotel grounds are nice and with a sort of kitsch everywhere but it is not fair to judge taste.

The otherwise almost daily IG sessions of both the owner and the male doctor are sadly not reflecting and competing with other renowned destinations for Ayurveda treatments. The male doctor was very friendly and greeted all guest throughout the day which I like to compliment. The hospitality gesture was not at par with the owners'. 

Reflections are made comparing with other places with similar offerings worldwide and hence putting into context the same.

Reality does not meet Social Media advertisement

I'm so excited about this wonderful place of power. I've traveled a lot and been to many places in Europe that have done Ayurveda. But here everything is right for me. I was here for an Ayurvedic cure and I felt really good. The medical team is very competent, the treatments are great and the wonderful food completes everything.

Ayurveda cure from the finest in Europe

The Sonnhof is not a grand hotel. It is a super pleasant refuge with a lot of positive energy, where you can get down very quickly. A friendly atmosphere, very nice staff both at the reception and in the service and usually quite good cuisine. Well, most guests are probably on an Ayurvedic trip, so you can observe one or another esoteric spirit here and there. But there are also very pleasant normal people (like me) who can watch all this very quickly and also like to eat and get excited. The ambiance in the hotel is very civic, the rooms (juniorites) are very pleasant and very clean. Unfortunately, the dishes are extremely narrow and the bathrooms have not been modernised for 50 years. Also, there is a very pleasant atmosphere in the hotel.

Ayurveda - Dive into a different world

Dreaming of a relaxed Ayurvedahotel with excellent food, both Ayurvedic, vegan or fish dishes of the best quality (if you don't do a cure). Also the yoga offers (especially at Caroline's), the diagnostics, the massages - all excellently professional and well-being. Very pleasant, attentive service (except for the payment, since the voucher was first ignored and there were other uncomfortable problems), especially in the applications and in the dining area you feel very well taken care of. Very nice rooms, great views and many large and small hiking points of view.

The world floats away

I was here for 10 days to do a reconstruction and I made the best decision. I really felt comfortable around and I can still feel it today. The team is very hard working and always there. The treatments were absolutely cutting edge for me and the food.

Honestly, a secret tip and a place of strength.

I have found my place for Ayurvedic medicine. The Sun Garden is a real paradise. You can recover very quickly and it's just a real place of strength. Every employee radiates a warmth and you really feel very welcome. The Ayurvedic medicine is very authentic here. I can only recommend it to everyone. The treatments are once and for all of high quality. The food is wonderful and the service is excellent. The course really helped me change my life. I now have new rituals that help me to shape your everyday life. I have more joy in life and also more success in my profession. I'm coming back!!

A new feeling of life - I'm back!!!

I'm always happy. A great Ayurveda center in the middle of the mountains. Everything is just right here. The care here in the house is really very excellent. The Mauracher family but also the whole team are very hardworking. I was able to recover very well and will come here again. I decided to take an immunity power course because I just didn't do well in health and I'm glad I made the decision. I get delicious food every day (partly from my own yard) and fine treatments. Yoga has completed the whole program. The doctors in the house are very competent. Anyone who wants to do it can also do coachings that are really very recommended. The house is small and has a great atmosphere. Thank you.
