We checked into totem hostel on Jan 7th 2017 on our trip to mar del plata. The owner is super friendly and speaks perfect English. Hostel is a bit older but we could tell it is treated with love and smells fresh everywhere. Bathroom is a bit different with the shower and toilet in the same room but hey you get what you pay for and we were here for the beach and this is a historic building. Simple breakfast in the morning but always greeted by a friendly staff. I Would recommend this hostel to anyone, its low priced , close to the beach and shuttles, and most importantly the owners and staff are wonderful! It is also great if you wish to meet other travelers. If you need any suggestions on what to do simply ask the front desk and they will line you up and give you a map.
