It was close to everything while being private and quiet. The staff and owners were lovely. We had a good time stayed for four nights

Although the tennis court is near & it’s not that quiet once they start their training, it’s great the Motel have blackout curtains because the flood lights from the tennis court are very bright, but they must have a certain time before they shut down, may not be the best place to stay if you are wanting to sleep in.  But in saying that I loved it :) don’t be put off by what I have written.

Was spacious . Good value. Bed was comfy .

It's an older property but very well maintained. Staff is excellent and very responsive (Janelle). It could improve the outside lighting. Our daughter walked back after dark and a few too many dark spots. Overall, a great place at a great price.

First time visiting New Zealand, and this Mount Eden Motel was my first stop place for my week stay in NZ.  Friendly folks at the front office and very nice place for the great price.  Will book here at the Mount Eden Motel again, when my next visit !!  Thank you, Mount Eden Motel staffs (mon and daughter) !!

This property was exactly what we needed for an overnight stay. Although not the fanciest of places, staff were very friendly on arrival and the property was very clean and tidy. Overall a very pleasant stay and we all agreed we would hook here again. Great value for money.

Very cramp for this 2-bedroom unit for 7pax. Does not have enough chairs for 7pax dining. The kitchen is small, the fridge is not mean to store frozen food as it does have a freezer. There was no oven glove if you do grilling. No closet in one of the room. Mirror should be provided in both bedrooms. Hot water for shower need to wait for 15 mins after each person used it. However, the host was friendly and accommodative.

Cramp 2-bedroom Unit

I stayed in a renovated room. Staffs very nice. The room was basic however good value for price. I liked the renovation efforts definately no frills but adds a freshness, simplicity and modern feel to the motel room. I noticed lots of noise from upstairs and tennis court across from garden however other guests were considerate and nil sport or noise late at night. The fridge was humming (there was a single bed in the lounge area) which was a bit annoying so i would not reccomend that area for sleeping. I would however reccomend the for couple or two people happy to share a bed as the bedroom was better. I was a bit worried about security as there is no chain lock and the window opens widely however there are cameras. Small shower and bathroom however remains excellent value. I really liked how they were not knocking on my door sharp on checkout time as I was travelling with small children. Thanks for great value and fresh living space.

Freshly renovated space.

The room was dated but spacious, clean and functional. The staff were pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful. The location is close to Mt Eden's walking/jogging routes and the views of Greater Auckland from the top are well worth the walk up from the motel. Boutique cafes and restaurants were only a short walk from the motel and a jaunt around the suburb's side streets revealed many gorgeous examples of lovingly maintained and restored colonial houses. We were originally going to stay in the Central Business District (~5 km from Mt Eden) but changed our plans and were so glad we instead stayed in this quaint neighbourhood.

Great place to stay. Yes it’s a bit dated but they don’t advertise as a five star resort! 
People are kind, close to the city, close to shops. 
Room was great. Bed was comfy plenty of parking, whilst not the Hilton it does its purpose of housing you comfortably for the time you are here and talk about clean. I haven’t had a cleaner place!!
What’s awesome to wake up to is the sound of the native birds chirping away in the morning. 
Highly recommend if you are here for the night, weekend or week.

Great accomodation

I can’t say enough good things about this gem of a motel! After a pretty rough patch in my life, I pulled up here four months ago, feeling like a lost puppy. On my very first day, I was sitting in my car, crying my eyes out, when suddenly there was a gentle knock on my window. It was Jennifer, the owner, with a muffin on a plate! I mean, who knew that a muffin could be so life-changing? Not only was it delicious, but her kind smile and the words “Everything will be okay” made me feel like I’d just received the world’s cosyest hug. 

This motel is run by an incredible family who genuinely care. They’re always there to lend a hand, and their friendliness, beautiful smiles and hard work goes above and beyond. I can’t forget the dynamic duo who take my rubbish away every morning while ensuring I’m stocked up with the best hot chocolate ever! Seriously, their smiles could brighten the gloomiest of days.

Waking up behind the Remuera Tennis Club is a treat. There is nothing like the sound of cheerful tennis players and a tui serenading you each morning! The motel has a charming retro vibe, with spacious rooms, comfy beds, and all the kitchen essentials you could need. Plus, there’s ample parking and even a washing machine and dryer for just $5 a token. 

The grounds are beautifully maintained and accessible for everyone, whether you’re single, a couple, or a family. It’s so peaceful here, and with the managers living on-site, I feel safe enough to lose my key at 1 a.m. (yes, that happened!) and they were right there to help me out. 

As I wait for an operation and navigate my relocation, I honestly wish my stay here could go on forever. I’ve stayed at plenty of places, but this is the first time I’ve felt so at home and safe. Thank you to everyone here, you work so hard, and I’m truly grateful for all you do. You’ve turned a tough time into a beautiful experience, and I couldn’t ask for more!xxxxx

A gem of a motel. Quiet & peaceful. The manager and her delightful family.will cater for any needs with a friendly smile

excellect location, quiet from main road, exterior looks tired, but we stayed at one of the newly renovated rooms, deco is fine, amenities new, however, shower wasnt strong enough, manager on duty very helpful, patient, good communicator, price under $100 per night, quite good bargain for the convenience of location

A simple room with a very comfy bed and nice pillows and duvet.  Great for a short stay if you want to be close to Mount Eden. Has plenty of parking on site which is an advantage in Auckland.  Easy to get to off the motorway when travelling, and easy to get back onto motorway to return home.  Can redeem and collect reward nights.

Warm little unit in Mount Eden

We found Mt Eden Motel was well located between Auckland International Airport and CBD. 20 mins easy drive to tge airport & 40 mins walk to CBD. The motel is a little tired but was clean and quiet and provided basic cooking facilities and guest laundry, value for money. We stayed one night prior to returning home to Oz.
