Chez Slimane

Chez Slimane is a wonderful place to stay, just outside of the medina in Essouira. It is spacious and clean and, unlike other places we stayed, it has three huge windows, making for a bright and sunny space. Slimane did everything to make us feel welcome, including meeting us at the bus and walking us to the chez. He had bottled water, juice and a variety of nuts for us. There were three beds in one room, a double bed and a crib in the other, and plenty of blankets, The towels were large and plush. The kitchen is fully furnished with a stove, refrigerator, and plenty of dishes. There was a tv, couch and two chairs in the living room. The bathroom was small but adequate. All four of us took showers and there was plenty of hot water. You can hear the call to prayer from the chez. I woke up, smiled, and fell back asleep. It's part of the culture of Morocco. No WiFi here but there is plenty in the medina nearby.Good shopping and restaurants a short walk from Chez Slimane
