Brennia Kottefaru Hotel

Whilst browsing endlessly to find the perfect island, Brennia Kottefaru was thrown in as a wild card option from our travel agent - we thought we had made up our minds previously on a different island, however once we saw Brennia we knew it was the one - and it did not disappoint! The island is medium sized - a great compromise if you do not want to be bored, however at the same time wanting peaceful, authentic Maldives, nothing too large and loud. Brennia is bursting with nature and beauty. We hopped off our seaplane and had a welcome party upon arrival, we were then taken in by Diana for a fast check in process. I highly recommend the over water villa for your stay, specifically with a pool - we found it is worth spending that little bit extra money for the pool, as it is just so warm during the day - they are so private and the views are spectacular. Excellent for star gazing at night. There are comments in the reviews regarding the bungalows looking “tired” - I could partially agree, but mainly on the outside. They are very clean and comfortable - nothing to worry about, and it adds to the character of where you are staying. The restaurants are nice, the mini bar also topped up daily and not chargeable. The only slight disappointment is that the other two restaurants are not all inclusive, meaning you are limited to options if you do not want to pay for a special meal with a menu. We had one night in the Manta restaurant, which was nice for the novelty as it was not very busy at all - the main Lime restaurant has themed nights (Italian, Maldivian, seafood etc) so there are lots of options available particularly for a self proclaimed picky vegetarian! Allen was our server most days, he stood out to us from the rest as he was always so friendly and smiley and remembered things about us. Rupa was a lovely lady too. All staff are polite and say hello wherever you are on the island and are kind and helpful to the guests. The island itself is absolutely beautiful, well maintained and the lagoon is super quiet - some days I was the only one in the water! We had two excursions included in our package, we took the sunset cruise - there’s also water sports for those who want something to do. Please ignore any negative comments, most are incredibly trivial or have been resolved already. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect holiday, and could not recommend the island more!
