Dera Amer Wilderness Camp

Absolutely wonderful experience and a true highlight of our holiday. Such a unique experience with the friendliest and most hospitable of staff. I’ve been to India 18 times and this is in my Top 3 of places to stay. Everything about it exceeded my expectations. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything you needed without being overly stuffy. Everything inside the tent was very well thought through - even the hot water bottles tucked inside your bed at night. We stayed for 3 nights and would happily have stayed longer. The elephants are the highlight of the stay and the main reason for coming. However, the wilderness location is truly unique and the service is so friendly and warm. We were made to feel really special and really comfortable there. Food was also a highlight. Served on a buffet basis all of it was tasty and really good quality. Cannot enthuse enough about our stay. Thoroughly recommend. Cannot remember the name of the guy that looked after us but he was so charming and Dev who hosted us was so friendly, professional and knowledgeable of local flora and fauna. He made sure we were really looked after and he was a true asset to Dera Amer. 100% would return next time.
