Grand Hotel Prague Towers

We stayed at the Grand Tower Hotel in Prague as a family with a seven-year-old child for four nights in November. The hotel has great potential to be excellent, but there are a few things that definitely need improvement. The biggest issue was the first impression upon arrival. I parked the car in front of the main entrance and had to unload and carry our luggage into the hotel by myself. For a five-star property, there should always be someone available to assist with luggage and ideally even with parking. This service should be standard at this level. On the positive side, the front desk staff were outstanding – professional, fast, and very pleasant. Check-in and check-out were completed in just a few minutes, including billing for the minibar and room service. Really impressive. We had a room on the 9th floor with a castle view. The room itself was fine – spacious enough and clean, though it could use some renovation, especially the bathroom. The view was beautiful, and cleanliness was excellent, which is most important. The bed was very comfortable, and the minibar was well-stocked with free water, coffee, tea, and bathrobes available. However, the towels should be of higher quality for a five-star hotel. The room temperature was a bit low – around 19–20°C – and the heating couldn’t go higher. We prefer warmer rooms, but I assume this is a standard EU setting. Room service food could use a bit more variety, but it wasn’t a major issue. The pool on the 25th floor is lovely, and the spa area is decent. Breakfast was excellent – truly five-star quality. There were gluten-free options, several types of bread and pastries, fresh eggs, and an amazing selection of cheeses and spreads. The hotel’s location is extremely convenient – right on top of a metro station, so you can reach the city center in about 10 minutes without even going outside. Parking is free, with plenty of spaces available. The elevators work efficiently, with five in total, so there’s never much waiting or crowding. Overall, the Grand Tower Hotel has everything it takes to be a top-tier hotel – great staff, location, cleanliness, and breakfast – but the arrival experience and luggage assistance need serious attention to match true five-star standards.
