Exceptionally clean. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. Perfect location.

Old but very well maintained .. peaceful setting.

Don’t let the outside fool you! The rooms are beautiful. There was even a china tea set placed at the foot of the bed!Beautiful and comfortable and very clean with all the extras at a reasonable price.

It's a nice place to stay, specially if you're basically going to be out and about during the day, this place is so affordable and will meet your basic needs

Quaint, an easy walk to everything, very clean.

From the outside, Crandell Mountain Lodge looks a bit dated. The deck needs painting, and the entry areas badly need refurbishing. However, the few rooms we saw have been refurbished.  We stayed with another couple, and had booked the 'superior suite, multiple beds, kitchen'. The room descriptions didn't indicate that the bathroom can only be accessed through a bedroom (this is the case in every room at Crandell) 
We were in Unit #7. The bedroom attached to the bathroom in this unit is tiny, and I could barely squeeze around the foot and side of the bed to close the curtain (I'm not a large person)  so Unit 7 is really only suitable for a couple with a child, not for 2 couples. (However, there is a sofa-bed in the living room for families) The bathroom is also very small - and dark. The kitchen was well-equipped, had everything we needed and the unit was comfortable.  I was happy to see the carpet had been removed, although the living room floor needed repairing in a couple of areas. 
However, because this room layout didn't work for us with a male in the group, one couple had to get another room, which was disappointing and not anticipated. The Guest Services Manager obviously cared about our experience, listened to our concerns and offered solutions, which we appreciated.

This place was quaint and rustic. Definitely older, no tv in the room, but overall clean. I'd stay here again. You do hear some noise from other rooms, as expected in an old building like that. There was coffee/tea and fresh cookies provided. I'd stay here again if I'm looking for the best value. It's also incredibly close to everything. The sister lodge is across the street and has a nice pub and restaurant you can visit. Visiting in off season (April). Really great way to visit the town, keep in mind everything was closed. 2 food options, and lots of little hikes nearby. Will come back in the summer during busy season!

Seamless check-in with friendly staff. Very clean rooms, comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen. One thing I found that could be improved upon was lighting. A bright lamp or two would compensate for low lighting especially in the kitchen area. Hard to see when cooking or using the kitchen area. Maybe other rooms are better lite, I don’t know!

We love Waterton and we love staying at the Crandell!  The only suggestion I’d make is that the beds are high ul (ours was anyway) and could maybe do with a little stool beside them so short people like me with mobility issues can get up onto the bed easier. It wasn’t impossible and this isn’t really a complaint, only a suggestion. Other than that…everything was just perfect!  We will see you again in March!

Loved my stay at Crandell. Yes, the rooms are on the small side, yes the deck needs to be painted, yes it’s not the most soundproof hotel, none of that bothered me. I knew that I was going to be staying in the off season so there were less people staying at the lodge and I didn’t have to worry about too much noise, there was always parking and I was always able to get a seat at the three restaurants that are still open this time of year (2 at Kilmorey across the street and the Italian restaurant 3 blocks away at Glacier Suites). I also didn’t have to fight for parking spots at the local popular trailheads. Things I loved about Crandell Mountain Lodge and why I would definitely stay there again:- Because you check in at Kilmorey across the street, there is no lobby or people to watch you come and go. It’s an apartment style lodge built in the 40s and, other than the other guests coming and going staying in your section, you may not see anyone else. It feels more like a private living space.- Location was awesome.- The pub and lamppost restaurant are right across the street and have very good food. The bison blue cheese burger and the chicken pot pie was the best pot pie I’ve ever had. - Appreciated the little things like some great caffeine free options for tea along with the traditional in room caffeinated tea and coffee choices. - the soak tub for my salt bath after a long hike.- no tv but WiFi worked great so I could stream without issues.

Stayed in a nicely renovated room with good amenities. Comfortable and clean. Blew a breaker one morning, no breaker panel in the room. Hotel staff couldn’t reach the maintenance crew. Mildly irritating as it meant using extension cords for some basic things like making coffee. I hate to complain, but doing without electrical outlets for 3 days of stay is frustrating when it takes all of 2 seconds to flip a breaker back on.P.S. - Parking lines would be nice. Had to load from the street because 3 vehicles were using 5 spots.

Crandell is dependable and we have been coming there for a number of years. It could really use a refresh. Start with the deck out front and rework the rooms to make them a little more user friendly. Eg. the room we had was nice, with the fireplace and kitchenette, but the bathroom was skinny and awkward to use.

A nice spacious room. I didn’t realize it included a kitchen too, not that we used it, but a nice surprise. I have knee and shoulder injuries so walking upstairs with baggage was not going to happen. This means we were downstairs by the front door and heard everyone coming in and out and the toddler running around the room above us. I recommend if you aren’t infirm to take an upper floor. Luckily I am a sound sleeper and people staying there were considerate and were not the type to make excess noise.  It was nice to park right in front of our room. I think likely every place is pricey so considering that, this was a decent price for the area and for what you get. 
Not much of a walk to see everything.  Some nice extras like tea and artisan soap.

Our room #4 had a small kitchenette which was sufficient for making tea, but you could have done a simple meal even though in close quarters. 
Beds were comfortable enough. 
Shower was good height, but water fluctuates as it does in older buildings. Could have used more towel racks. It was OK for two people so no room for towels to dry for the third and fourth person.  Would be helpful to have shelves above the toilet for storing toiletries. 
The room has a small table with chairs for four. Would be better if there was some lighting above it. 
No TV, but the wifi was good so watched movies on an iPad. 
Breakfast is available across the street at the Kilmoray Lodge.

Good Room could use a few tweeks

We had a two bedroom/1 bath suite in this old but warm and quaint Inn.  Our unit was completely remodeled with a kitchen, fireplace, dining room table and pull out couch.  The pictures that the lodge has posted do not do the units justice. One bedroom had a queen and the other had two twins.  The bedding and beds were comfortable.  The lodge is conveniently located in the little town of Waterton. We enjoyed staying in Waterton township because you can walk everywhere.  Because were were there in late May the town was very quiet but we really enjoyed not having any crowds in town or on the trails.
