This is a hotel hostel and we didn’t know this when we booked but we had a king bed and private bath and a huge veranda to spend our morning waking up. Arlene was an awesome host with lots of information as to where to eat and things to do. Really enjoyed her company. Plus it’s centrally located to restaurants and shops so you don’t need to drive.  If back in San Ignacio we will stay here again.

We loved our stay at Tia Maria!  My husband and i visited in 2015 and knew we wanted to return.  This time, we brought 15 of our closest friends and booked the entire place!  The staff was accommodating and friendly.  When the city power went out, they filled the building with candles and delivered homemade snacks to our group.  So kind.

The rooms are basic; large bed, simple linens, ac, (sometimes spotty) wifi and a small tv, but very clean considering the open air feel of the main building.  We loved the common living space and used the kitchen daily for coffee and keeping our beer and wine cold.   The location is perfect for anyone who's interested in enjoying San Ignacio restaurants and shops; a super easy and safe 2 minute walk. 

We highly recommend staying at Tia Maria.  It's a perfect little spot to enjoy San Ignacio.

Stayed in a different guesthouse for one night and was so glad to have moved here. We stayed 3 nights in a king size bedroom for 2. Everything was clean and looked new. The bed was comfortable and spacious. WiFi signal was strong. TV was a nice touch though didn’t use it much. 
Big social area with free coffee, book shelves and hammock with a nice view.
Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
Less than a 5min walk to town center.
Would definitely stay here if I visit again.

We chose Tia based on other reviews and wasn't disappointed. You have to remember you are in Belize so the standards are somewhat different. But the Tia was perfect for our stay in the Cayo. We stayed there 1 night on our way to Tikal and liked it so much we stayed again on our way back. Clean rooms, hot water, a nice balcony area with a kitchen you could use and in a quiet area. All the restaurants are nearby and it is easy to find your way around. Friendly manager as well. Would stay again.

Nice simple guesthouse.  Room was very clean and a good size.  Outdoor patio area was a big plus, as with the kitchen we were able to heat up breakfast before early morning tours.  I enjoyed my stay for 4 nights.

This guesthouse is in a great location just around the corner from the main pedestrianised street and a 5 min walk from the bus stop. 
There is a kitchen and fridge in the communal area if you want to bring and make your own food. 
The rooms are a nice size with fan and air con. There is free WiFi. 
I found the lady on reception very helpful.
