We have stayed at this location 3x in the last four years. Something has happen to this hotel. The room was not as nice-badly ripped shear curtains. The exterior doors were constantly proped open with a rock. There three men on our floor with ski masks on. When I told the front desk about the proped exterior doors and the masked men the front desk person told me they were construction workers that were cold. It was 70F out. Breakfast: the place looked like it had been tossed-dirty counters, toaster not working, a few cereal boxes, no milk, coffee that looked like tea, two apples. No one around to ask for help. We just left. Outside the restaurant nextdoor is closed. There was trash every where. We will not be returning.

What Has Happen to this Hotel

Me and my mother-in-law stayed at this hotel only because the Holiday Inn Express was pretty much booked up and way overpriced anyway and after reading some 1-to-3-star reviews, I was a little leery to stay here but we did anyway, and we were pleasantly surprised. This rooms were very clean and spacious, beds were oh so comfy and the rooms had a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine, which I love. The breakfast was okay, which you would expect for a free breakfast, the pool was nice and clean, kids were playing in it happily. Staff were very friendly. I will defiantly stay here again in the future, and I recommend this Comfort Inn.

Great Hotel!

Stayed with a group for several days…and not the first time.
It is hard to believe but true and hopefully will never happen again:
Breakfast item quantities were totally insufficient and in addition two days without morning coffee because they could not figure out how to make it !!
No effort whatsoever to make up for it by offering a rebate or something else…talk about customer service!

Never again!

The hotel was conveniently located to all the major sights in the area - - e.g., an excellent Mexican restaurant, historical museums, nature preserves, Elephant Butte, and several mineral springs.  The staff were friendly, responsive to our needs, and competent.  The hotel facilities - - e.g., the pool - - were well organized, clean, and convenient.  Of special note was the hotel staff’s helpful, response in locating and mailing some forgotten items to us.

Pleasant Stay!

Super comfortable beds and pillows, clean rooms and very nice staff. The breakfast was pretty poor other than the waffles. There was a nice sized indoor pool that was empty but we never used. Coffee was like brown colored water. Otherwise very comfortable stay!

Comfortable Stay!

Staying here one night driving back to Albuquerque from El Paso due to an air leak in a tire. 

It's the typical, average Comfort Inn. 
The King bed is comfortable, shower was good, put out hot water immediately. 

TV is a good size for the room, looks to be 43 inches, an HDTV recently manufactured by LG.
It has DirecTV service, complete w/DirecTV remote.. it's just like you'd get in your home.  All local channels from Albuquerque are available, plus many many "cable" channels. TV has a DirecTV channel guide, as well. Looks like there is maybe a DVD player below the TV, but I don't see a remote for it.

AC is nice and cold.. it was freezing in the room upon arrival!

There's a fridge with a very small freezer, along w/a microwave & coffee pot (with carafe!) Ice machine is on the first floor, close to lobby. 

The elevator is out of order. The building is two stories, wasn't an issue for me to get to my room on the 2nd floor, but I can certainly see it being an issue for anyone that needs to haul a hotel cartful of items for a longer stay, or for older & those guests that may have breathing problems.

There is a Denny's restaurant attached to the hotel.. I was going to order from there, but unlike all other Denny's locations, there was no chicken tenders dinner available, so ordered Pizza Hut instead. There is a McDonald's next door, as well.

The only issue I really have to raise is the fact that the in-room wi-fi is extremely slow. I was getting speeds below 1 mps download... with an upload speed of around 1.5 mps. Barely usable.. that kind of speed may have been great 15-20 years ago, but not now.  I decided to use my phone's mobile hotspot, I am getting speeds w/the hotspot of around 54mps download, 6.5 upload.. VERY nice (this is with the AT&T network)

This hotel is right off I-25, close to several restaurants (Sonic, McDonalds, Denny's, and a local restaurant). 

So yeah... the hotel is pretty much what I said at the beginning.. an average, run-of-the-mill Comfort Inn. Nothing fancy, standard Comfort Inn amenities.. there are stains on the easy chair/ottoman, though. Overall, a decent place to stay the night, whether you have a planned trip to T or C, or, like me, made an unplanned stop due to a car tire.  The Holiday Inn Express across the street looks nicer, but I cannot speak to the quality of the hotel itself. It is about $15 more expensive.

Average Comfort Inn, very slow internet.. Elevator down.

We booked online- last minute no mention of “issues”. When we arrived at the property we were informed after check in that the elevator was broken and we would have to walk to our 2nd floor room. No big deal as we are fortunately able bodied, When we asked, we were told that the elevator was not working “for awhile” and they were “waiting for a part” Thermostat in room was set to lowest setting. No way to adjust. When we turned it off, fan kept cycling on every 5 minutes. Manager came to room and said “it won’t stop” we asked for a different room. After 10 minutes, she gave us keys to room next door. Toilet was filthy (imagine disgusting gas station dirty) and there was a large stain on an upholstered bench. Told manager that we would stay in first room even though fan cycled all night.clearly issues with this location. Outside was well taken care of and clearly the poor woman on desk duty wasn’t to blame.

No elevator, broken hvac, filthy toilet, stained furniture

I couldn't sleep in this room because there were bugs in it. I kept flushing them, and they kept coming. Around sunrise I left, popping over to Denny's for breakfast. When I opened the door to the restaurant, I immediately saw several cockroaches skittering around on the floor. I turned to go to my car, and that's when I noticed the parking lot was littered with cockroaches--so many that you couldn't walk a straight line to your car without stepping on multiple. I went to Walmart, I went to the gas station, and same issue in those parking lots. If you are not tolerant of roaches, do not stay in Truth or Consequences. Apparently the people here have learned to live with them, or something. Get an RV or be prepared to drive four hours to the nearest (barely) habitable town, as I had to do for the rest of my trip. This is not a clean hotel. I don't know if there are other hotels that are better in this town, but I would not take the risk. Avoid staying here.

Bugs

Because of the mix-up with nearby Holiday Inn reservation had to spent there one night.
The one good thing was there, that it was only One Night.
Another good thing is that most of the time I spent not in Hotel but in unaffiliated Hot Spring Bath.
For such basic and serviceless accommodation it is ridiculously overpriced.
And the checkout charge was more than I was quoted previous evening when I checked in.
The explanation that the reservation quote is just "an estimate" and that the final price is calculated at the checkout made me aware that future holds no Comfort for me at  Comfort Inn & Suites

Near I-25, Far from Spaceport America

We thought we'd spend the night in Albuquerque but didn't make it that far up I-25 and ended up choosing the Comfort Inn. We asked to look at a room on the 2nd floor and after seeing it, booked it for a night without using a 3rd party and found the rate to be quite fair. The elevator wasn't working which was fine by us. The west facing room was comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The beds were great! We were grateful that the window opened as we prefer fresh air.  Carla, the front desk clerk was helpful and friendly. We had no complaints! Breakfast was served in a downstairs room where an employee was on hand to sanitize the tables after folks were finished eating. The coffee was only so-so but the focus on our health is what counted. Finally the workout room was much appreciated!
