Truth or Consequences

The hotel was clean, charming, and cozy. Owners went to a lot of effort to add homey touches. The dog run was great for my dog. Beautiful view of the mountain.
Would highly recommend to anyone  traveling through from interstate. Rooms were exceptionally clean.

Clean,charming, and cozy with a view and dog run.

I was traveling for work in a giant Mercedes Sprinter van when I stopped in Truth ot Consequences for the night.  I say this for those who may be traveling in an oversized vehicle and need a place that can accomodate larger vehicles.  I wasa ble to park the van right outside my room, no problem.  The lot was easy to get in and out of.  And there was additional parking for those with even larger vehicles like campers or RV's.  I noticed during my visit that there weren't a lot of affordable places with as ample parking options as the Desert Veiw Inn.  
       The room was clean and orderly and was far better appointed than the price would suggest.  It was also surprisingly spacious for a small motel.  The motel is relatively conveniently located to all the attractions in town.  I walked from there to everywhere I wanted to go, but I would caution that it may be a farther walk than some are willing to make (but no more than a mile or so).  
       The staff comprised of an Inn Keeper and his wife, who were very freindly and accomodating.  I couldn't have asked for more attentive service.  I highly recomend a stay at this motel and will most assuredly stay there again whenever I visit Truth or Consequences.

Quaint. Cozy. Comfortabe. Great service.

We read about the old hotel on the internet and decided to give it a try. We reserved room #1 which had a sunroom attached. The manager Dan was very nice and told us a few stories about the hotel and it's ongoing renovation. The room was nice and had everything we needed.

The room was very recently updated and had a great view. Dan was very friendly and made himself available to handle any concerns. Nice alternative to corporate chain hotels if you’re looking for something unique to the area.

Nice place with great view

Clean, quiet spot. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful mountain views from all rooms! We stopped on our way through and enjoyed a great meal nearby before falling into bed. Great drive thru coffee spot to refuel on the way out in the morning. Recommend!

Clean and quiet with beautiful mountain views

My husband and I were stranded outside Truth or Consequences when our truck broke down. Dan, the manager at Desert View Inn could not have been nicer if he tried. He allowed us to park our trailer on the empty lot next door so we could have our basic necessities. The room we had was nicely refurbished and very clean. In fact Dan is working on the entire Inn to brighten and refurbish the rooms, the parking lot and the patio area. If you want a nice place to stay when you visit the area, I highly recommend the Desert View Inn as a stopping place.

stranded outside Truth or Consequences

April 25th, 2022; after a long day, finally I came in front of Desert View Inn. Dan greeted me and showed me my room. Wow! It was very clean and comfortable.  Usually in old motels, there is always, I see some places are neglected. When I walked in to my room, it was spotless, clean, it had basically what I needed, clean and very comfortable. Not only the rooms but also the parking lot and in front of the doors. Thank you Dan Gray!

Very hospitable

Hans and his daughter were fantastic. My brother-in-law and I stayed for 3 days on a family adventure. Hans was very very helpful and will be remembered and cherished by me and my family for what he did forever.

The perfect place to stay...when I needed a perfect place to stay.

We prefer to stay at locally owned motels usually the motor court variety. This was just as the reviews report. Hans was very nice even offered to bring us coffee in the morning. Do not let the office dissuade you from staying here. Hans seems to be a very busy guy repairing computers, chamber of commerce president and the motel. The room was clean and in good repair considering the overall age of the building. Linens and towels were of better quality than your similarly priced chain budget motel/hotel. The pillows were meh but we always bring our own, so not an issue. The TV remote did not work very well. Upon further inspection the signal was not reaching the cable box. The issue was quickly remedied by moving the cable box. While the water in the shower (tiled stall) was hot,  it was a low flow showerhead so the pressure was lacking. Also, not really a big deal since it is a water saving device. The room had a table with 2 chairs in addition to the typical furnishings. There was additional seating outside as well. The motel is in close proximity to several locally owned dining options, we chose the steak house. There is a straight up dive bar right next door with friendly folks, pool tables and inexpensive drinks- we stayed a bit too long. Very quiet, very clean and super affordable. If in the area we would stay again.

very clean rooms. friendly staff/owner.
nice location. nearby gas station,and very close to the lrestaurant's. even a bank across the street...
plus the view....next time im visiting in town.. the desert view is where im booking my stay.
