Thanks to our 14 year old for the title as he summed it up: great fishing, great food, great place to stay and a Poke Stop! Our second visit, this year with all 4 boys, stayed in The Cottage. This is a no frills old school cabin colony type accommodation which used to be common in Vermont, NH, and coastal Maine. Rooms basic but clean. Owners live on premises during the Summer and are welcoming and gracious. Several rooms in the main building, rooms in "the motel" in back - stayed there last year - and the Cottage for larger groups rented by the week.  Includes breakfast which is hearty, country gourmet with real maple syrup. Pebble Stone beach and dock across road which is how the waterfront properties are on this part of the Island.  Great place to relax and also to explore the Champlain Islands. Great fishing right off the dock due to the geography of the lake. If you need the Ritz this is not the place - if you want a true VT lake experience you will not find better.

Great Food, Fishing, Room & A Poke Stop

We weren't sure what we had booked but we wanted to stay on the isles in lake champlain.  The inn is across the street from the lake with steep stairs leading to a small rocky beach.  The inn is rustic.  You walk thru the kitchen to get to the upstairs.  Stairs are steep and narrow.  Some of the rooms have private bathrooms.  Ours had a very small bathroom, with a tiny sink and narrow shower.  The full size bed was comfortable.  There was no closet, just a a rod with a couple hangers in the corner and an antique dresser.  There was no ac, but There was a fan in the window.  Dinner was optional for about $20 and was good.  It was enjoyable to meet other guests and chat.  The breakfast was made to order with a choice of eggs your way or pancakes.  The lady in charge was very nice and she did all the work cooking, cleaning, etc.  I liked that all the profit goes to a vharity.

Small room, no ac, but charming

We had 2 rooms at the Inn for 3 nights.  A lovely old farm house  with a large inviting screened front porch,  dining room, and a little library.  Our rooms were small, but charming. The owners were friendly and were able to handle a power outage that lasted 5 hours with grace and humor while making sure the guests were happy.  The breakfast was good comfort food a seasonal fruit.  We would recommend  this B&B to everyone!

What a place!!

Simple, but clean, accommodations with a delicious breakfast, kind host, and spectacular sunset from the beach which is just across the road. Would definitely stay here again! A swim in the lake was the perfect way to end a day of bicycling - of which is lovely on the island!

Refreshing dip in the lake

Lovely dinner. Cozy. Almost like being invited into someone's home for dinner.It was Nicoragua night. Grilled citrus marinated chicken with rice and beans, Cole slaw and dessert. BYOB.All proceeds go to a wonderful fund for the families of Nicoragua.
Very casual, friendly atmosphere overlooking the lake.

Great little place 

I have been staying at this Inn at least once a summer since the summer of 2000.   They are under new ownership since 2012 or 13.  If you're looking for nightlife and all the amenities, this is not the place for you.  The inn and the whole island is about getting away from it all!  it's quiet and peaceful but the accommodations are rustic.  the people who run it are wonderful and friendly.  They offer an excellent breakfast included in the room and dinner most nights if you make arrangements in advance.  There is a private beach with kayaks and a canoe and the sunsets are breathtaking.  The rooms in the house are nicely furnished, two have private baths, once has a half bath and the others have two shared baths in the hallway.  They are not air conditioned but the breezes from the lake usually do the trick.  There are four motel rooms that do have air conditioning.  I go back every summer and just love this place.  It closed for two years between owners and I was bereft.  I hope it never closes again!  I think that says it all.  Oh, under the new owners, all the of their profits go to charity.

Quiet and lovely with great sunsets!

Our stay at the Inn at the Isles was very pleasant. The simplicity of the countryside is well-suited to the soul of the island La Motte and the friendly and warm welcome of the young guests was very much appreciated.
