Loved being able to watch the sunset out the front door and the sunrise out the back door. Special place. Older historic Florida home but everything worked well and was comfortable. Great value. We were able to walk to caddy's or happy hour and lu's for ice cream! 

Relaxing family trip

We vacation in Indian Shores every year and always stay at Sun n Fun. The location is amazing and a very private beach.  It has plenty of beach umbrellas and chairs and a really nice area to sit and watch the ocean or the sunset. It is steps to the beach. The house is old but very clean. It is kinda nostalgic.

Awesome location!

I chose SunFun1925 for a long weekend with my 3 adult daughters, a special girls weekend.  I was looking for a quiet, relaxing, low-key “old Florida” beach cottage, not a fancy, crowded corporate resort for this special family time.  Sun N Fun was just perfect!  It had everything we wanted and needed!  
We stayed in Unit 6, the largest unit.  We loved the nostalgic feel and vintage style of the cottage!  My youngest daughter, who loves old houses, was immediately delighted by the heavy old doors, glass door handles, leaded glass windows, milk glass sconces and rattan furniture! The unit was very clean and well kept with classic beach decor.  The furniture was clean, sturdy and very comfortable.   The beds were also very comfortable and we all slept well.  The kitchen had top of the line appliances and was equipped with everything we could want or need.  The large SMART TV and wifi were great!
Then we stepped outside!  The back courtyard has several patio tables with umbrellas, beach loungers, rocking chairs, a beautiful lit cabana and even a fire pit.  The beach was incredible with soft white sand, sea oats, sea grapes and the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.  Beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys were all provided.   We particularly enjoyed kayaking amongst the sea birds on the calm gulf waters.  The emerald water is so clear, almost like pool water and the waves were very calm, unlike the punishing waves of the atlantic that can sometimes beat you up when venturing out.    The gorgeous white beach was clean and uncrowded.  We basically had the beach all to ourselves.  And, those sunsets were breathtaking!
The location, directly between the bay and the gulf, was very convenient to restaurants.  We walked to dinner each night.  There is also a trolley that runs about every 30 minutes from early morning to late evening the length of the island and the stop is just outside the house.
And finally, Wes, the owner, was especially responsive and helpful.  He answered all my questions promptly and provided history and other interesting information about the area.  He even called to make sure we had arrived safely after our flight.  His love and care for this home, which was originally his grandparents where he spent summers as a kid, was apparent.  We are so thankful we were able to experience this special little slice of paradise.  We will definitely be back!


Unforgettable “Old Florida” experience

This place is my private little slice of heaven, and I was fortunate enough to have the beach to myself most of my stay. I don’t go here for the amenities, (there are none), I go to restore my soul and recharge my batteries. I have a safe place to sleep, and a wonderful view of the Gulf from my bed in a quiet area. I can choose to cook in or go out with plenty of options nearby. I’m always torn between leaving a great review or keeping this gem to myself. 

Great reviews though are what this place needs to insure its success though. Hoping to visit this place for many years to come. 

Restore and Recharge at this Hidden Gem

Sun n Fun is a nice, cozy place with decent pricing! There are 6 units. We stayed in unit 2 which has two bedrooms so it accommodated our family great. The unit even worked well with our ten month old baby. All of the kitchen appliances needed were available, as well. The beach is a short walk from the rooms and was never busy with beautiful sunsets. There are plenty of beach items available for guest use including beach chairs, umbrellas, kids toys, and even kayaks, which was awesome to not have to worry about bringing with. We had the pleasure of meeting and talking with the owner who seemed like a very down to earth, good guy! Our family will definitely be returning to Sun n Fun for future Florida vacations! 

Cozy and affordable!

The room was so so, but the view was incredible. The furniture is old and not too comfortable, and the stove is really unlevel. The bed was quite comfortable, but there is a bright light outside on the building next door that was pretty annoying. There is a plexiglass pane in the bedroom window that really needs to be replaced.  Access to the beach was good, but the stairs from our unit (#4) was a challenge to navigate to and from the beach.

2022 vacation

We try to always stay at Sun and Fun. It’s an older accommodation and a bit pricey, but it just feels like home. Right on the beach, canopy, chairs, umbrellas, bbq grill, towels, and more. Recommend for anyone.

Cotton and Kate Wedding Weekend

Sun N Fun is a perfect place for some vacationers and not at all what others might be looking for.  The six units are part of a 1925 home and its carriage house.  All but one of the units are small but livable.  Are they perfect?  No, they're not.  There are no chandeliers, no elevators, no room service.  They need additional TLC, but they are getting by.  The kitchens are adequately stocked (blender, toaster, microwave, etc., with full-size appliances).   With so many aspects less than perfect, why have we returned there for the last 7 years?  The location is absolutely perfect!  The home is on the beach!    The units have umbrellas, beach chairs, and what is needed to settle in on the beach and read a good book.  The beach is also great for walking and shell hunting.  The specific location of Sun N Fun is not close to high rise apartments/condos, so the beach area is not overly inhabited.  Since the water and beach is what draws us and this is our #1 priority, we want to come back year after year.  We get what we want (beach! water! sand!) in the backyard and at a reasonable price.  We're quite willing to overlook some minor inconveniences to be in a lounge chair, beverage in hand, watching the sun go down into the beautiful view of the gulf.  We already have our reservation set for next year!

Location, location, location

Perfect for wanting to spend most of our time on the beach.  Place is BEACH FRONT.  Convenient to everything.  Spent our chilly mornings on bay side (out the front door), and warm afternoons on the beach.  (out the back door).  We checked out other beaches, and I thought Indian shores was really nice.  Clean, Flat, and not crowded. We visited Sea Breeze for a dinner (3 miles north) - nice local restaurant.   Also went to Fresca Vida (organic vegan) - super awesome place about 5 miles.  The rest of our meals were enjoyed in our cozy room (#3 second floor) which had all the basics needed.

Pretty Darn Convenient

Relax and unwind at this tranquil beach property. The apartment is clean and simple. Nothing fancy, but the location is unbeatable.
Enjoy the views of the Intercoastal and Gulf from the 2 bedroom apt in our carriage home. The beach is private in front of the main beach house. Sit out on the small balcony off the master bedroom and watch the yachts go up and down the intercoastal waterway. Come and enjoy a real beach home.

Above is the description given for the Airbnb ad with photos. I have problems with this ad after we arrive to find a house turned into a MOTEL with six rooms! I read this as there is a beach house, and the "Carriage Home" has been turned into an Airbnb apartment. It also does not say it's on the second floor up eleven outside steps. The exterior stairs are unsafe, and whoever attempted to repair them should not be doing carpentry work!  At the top, you can look down on the trash and smell it! The tree branches need to be trimmed; they hit you on the way up and rub wood in the wind. At the top of the steps, you can enjoy a view of trash cans and the smell too. The views in the ad are from a kitchen window to see the intercostal waterway with a two-lane highway about 15 feet away from the building. 

I am not sure where to start.  This place is an outdated, poorly maintained dump.  Let's start with the parking needs Assigned spots since there will be eight vehicles in space for four. Outside, the landscaping is a mess. There are building materials and items stored everywhere. Don't let the pictures of kayaks fool you. They are all broken, have no handles or seats, and are full of water with no plugs.  You would get sick if you cooked anything on the grills covered in mold and grease. 

So the road noise was so bad we could not sleep. You can hear everything, including the other 16 guests walking by and going in and out of their vehicles.  So inside, prepare yourself for doors that don't latch windows that leak air and can't be opened. One window is repaired with Plyglass clear tape and paper towels stuffed in the seams (still circulates air). Uncomfortable beds and couches were all dated and worn out. The couches have exposed staples and wood splinters from the reed wrapping. Sheets and towels are stained. The best is we paid a $145 cleaning fee!  There are instructions to wash all dishes and take the trash out when you leave.
Wait for this one. Beach towels, if used, should be washed! Will I buy soap and wash the towels for the next person?  There are washers and dryers reserved for the cleaning staff during the day? The lights don't work, so good luck washing after 6 pm.  Why did I pay a cleaning fee? It might as well as a new check out the dirty vents, mold in the shower, dust, and dirt from behind the picture frames on the wall. No water pressure, kitchen sink drain is clogged and stinks.  Most electrical outlets don't work plugs won't stay in. The TV in bedroom didn't work. No channel guide, so good luck on finding what's on. Also, have to move the batteries around to get remotes to work. No smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors. If the "apartment" below cooks, you can enjoy the smells in the upstairs and hear everything they are doing. 
Broken blinds, the best is the 3 foot by 5-foot deck overlooking the road and parking lot.
After staying and wanting to leave, I googled the address. Wow, very few positive reviews on other sights. Check out booking.com and trip adviser.  This place is nothing more than a cheap motel you would stay at for spring break and drink in.  Don't let it fool you by being on Airbnb. It's not a home or apartment.
