The Granary

The Granary is a fabulous B&B and Joyce is a wonderful host. We were met with tea and muffins, a lovely touch, the rooms were great and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Breakfast was a real highlight and Joyce’s knowledge of the local area was vast and very useful. Thank you for a superb stay and if we are ever in the same area again we will be back.

Recently returned from a weekend at this gem of a place, such a stunning location, with wonderful garden and countryside views. The accommodation is kept immaculately with the most hospitable and wonderful host Joyce - who cooks up the most fantastic breakfast. I would highly recommend a stay here, you will not be disappointed!!!

Stayed for two days and will definitely return. Felt like a proper home from home.

Joyce is the perfect host, offering superb accommodation set in a beautiful part of the UK.
The rooms are very spacious and well equipped.
Her breakfasts could be described as legendary, with a wide variety of local produce and lots of options.
I had to walk 11 miles to burn it off!

A perfect retreat to re charge your batteries. This a beautiful granary conversion finished and furnished to the highest standards. The hosts are welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The area is spectacular, the locals are so friendly. Go and stay, you won’t be disappointed!

Me and the hubby stayed in this beautiful B&B for 3 nights while we were attending a 3 day metal detecting rally,our hosts, Joyce and Ray were so welcoming,friendly and attentive, our room was beautiful with a lovely view of their pretty garden !! It was spotlessly clean with a selection of toiletries, tea and coffee, fresh milk and even some biscuits ! Breakfast was exceptional with plenty to choose from !! Thank you Joyce and Ray for a lovely stay !! we will definitely be returning!!

I stayed here during the Hay festival but it was so lovely I want to go back again as soon as I can! Joyce is a wonderful host, the bed was super comfy and the breakfast was honestly the best I've ever had in my whole life!!

We had a lovely stay with Joyce and Ray for two nights while we walked in the Brecon Beacons. The granary is a beautiful building and the room we stayed in was clean, homely and the luxury bathroom was great. Breakfast was fabulous, and we particularly enjoyed Joyce’s blueberry pancakes and her fry up. Joyce is also very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some good recommendations. We would definitely stay again!

A perfect breakaway!!

Beautiful Bnb and area

A very beautiful location, quiet and away from busy roads.  A stunning spotless house with every conceivable detail for a restful relaxing getaway.  The owner Joyce pulls out all the stops to make you feel welcome and relaxed, as I owned a busy B & B myself (for 16 yrs!) I know what hard work goes in to all the details that go into making everything just right.  The room was spacious, spotless with the vital basics of a comfy bed and plenty of hot water!  I would most definitely highly recommend this place, it’s location near The Beacon’s, Hay-on-Wye etc. makes it an ideal base too.

Wow,what a fab b&b.My friend found this gem online,and we are so happy that they did .We agree with everything that Jackie and Alan said ,we stayed with them for 1 night for the wedding .joyce and Ray are fantastic caring people,who really looked after us .Would like to say a big thank you again to you both ,love Caroline and Tony xx

Wedding break

Where to begin ?  So many good things to say about our stay in the Granary.  On arrival Joyce and Ray greeted us with hot Welsh cakes and a beautiful cup of tea , this was just the start of a fabulous three night stay .  Every part of the Granary was exceptionally clean , you could eat off the floor. The rooms were spacious and warm as it was quite a cold weekend , the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a lovely size with a great double size shower,  all immaculately clean.  Teas coffee and biscuits and bottled water supplied in the rooms and also a small fridge.  All towels and toiletries also supplied  and were replenished when needed.  The breakfasts were to die for , fresh fruit and natural yogurt,  cereals,  toast  and homemade preserves made by Joyce and Rays daughter who lives next door and the big beacons traditional  breakfast ,  also one morning Joyce actually baked us a fresh loaf of bread which tasted wonderful straight out of the oven.  We were actually attending a wedding three miles away and it was impossible to get taxis so Ray even ran me down to the venue on two occasion to collect my car and his Grandaughter,  a lovely girl named Grace picked us up from the venue two nights on the run.  To say that Ray , Joyce and their Grandaughter Grace went above and beyond to make our stay with them something special is an understatement.  Being sixty eight years of age and never having done a review before even though   I have stayed in a lot of places in my time I just felt that Joyce  and Ray deserve all the accolades that I have given them .  They are two of the nicest people you could wish to meet and if anybody  wants lessons on how to run  B&B look no further than The Granary,  best place myself and my partner Jackie have ever stayed.  As Arnie said ,  I’ll be back.

Talgarth wedding break

This really is an excellent B&B in all ways. Hosts Joyce and Ray are kind and hospitable, making the Granary feel like a home from home. The rooms are spotless and characterful and the views from the windows and garden are really excellent. Located a short walk or shorter drive out of Talgarth with its Coop, pubs and shops, the Granary really is perfectly located for the Brecon Beacons and sampling local delights. Joyce's breakfasts are second to none - the jams and marmalades made by her daughter and the home made vegetarian sausages and omelette must be sampled to be believed. 5* stay again, and we'll be back. Thank you!

Stayed at the Granary for a long weekend break. 
Joyce was a dream host...welcomed us with hot coffee and warm Welsh cakes and we had a chat about what we wanted from our stay. She recommended where we could go and supplied us with a comprehensive list of pubs and restaurants in the area for good quality food.
The granary is a superb place to stay, in peaceful country surroundings, yet close enough to the town for amenities. So roomy yet cosy and with rooms furnished to the highest standard. 
It's very clear that Joyce puts her heart into being a host and enjoys welcoming people into her home. 
The choices for breakfast are great and the food is cooked fresh every morning, sourced from local suppliers, if not home made, with very generous helpings.
We had a fantastic break here and will definitely stay here again when in area. Can't recommend enough
