Room ok but lacks a bar area. Breakfast could have been a lot better. Ordered a taxi for 5 adults and cases and the taxi driver that was booked by the B and B arrived late and not enough room for all the cases. Not the b and b's fault but we aware if more than four people.

Average stay

Great B&B for airport stopovers. 

Late check in was straightforward and bed was really comfy. Just what was needed after hours of travel.

Room was very clean.  Lovely fluffy towels and a good shower.

Breakfast was help yourself/continental style and simple, but there was plenty of choice and the inclusion of crumpets and marmite was a delight for me!

Hosts were lovely and friendly.

Would definitely use again 😊

Comfy bed and crumpets for the win!

Stayed for one night on basis of good reviews, wish I had gone to premier inn and paid a little more, as the saying goes you get what you paid for.
Rooms very tired and run down, spiders webs across the window which have been there for some time, paintwork very old, bathroom very tired and dated, window blind broken, extractor fan covered in old dirt and dust, plastic covers missing from screw heads and dirt around hand holds in shower. Take my advice and spend a few quid more as you will get better comfort at premier inn.


Close to airport but needs updating

We have stayed in a few Gatwick B&Bs for early flights, and they are a useful alternative to the big hotels, especially if you're bringing a car and want to keep the parking cost down. I think Gatwick Lodge was the best yet. It is on a busy road, which, combined with the narrow gateway can make getting in and out slightly tricky, but there seems to be plenty of parking space. The room was a fair size, clean and tidy, with tea/coffee facilities and ensuite. It was at the front of the house but traffic at night wasn't bad, and the bed was comfortable. 

There is a conservatory/lounge with reading material so you aren't confined to just your room. 

The pub/restaurant nearby was closed for renovation, so we drove the short distance up the road to Horley (it was raining!) and ate at Il Sorriso, an Italian restaurant, which was very good.

We had to be up about 5a.m., so it was self-service for breakfast, but there was all we needed - juice, fruit, cereals, bread, etc.

The local taxi firms will take you on the short trip to Gatwick for about £6 (South Terminal), and there was little waiting. Car was ready at the front when we flew back.

So all in all, everything worked ok. Oh - and the proprieters are friendly!

Handy location

Gatwick House is a privately run 9 bedroom bed and breakfast hotel. It is about 5-10 minutes from Gatwick north terminal, and very easy to find.  Parking was good and off-road . We arrived after 9pm, so had been given instructions on how to get in. This worked well, and upon entry were greeted and welcomed by our friendly host.
Our room was in the attic and had velux windows with blackout blinds. Everything was very clean and tidy. There were tea making supplies, tv, hairdryer and a compact en-suite.  It was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep.
We had a continental type breakfast next morning which had several choices. Our hosts were chatty and friendly , and made us feel as if we were staying with family.  We would stay again.


Good for a stopover, near airport.

A low cost, very well located B and B close to Gatwick - Tony will even give you the 10 min trip to the airport, even if you have an early flight. Very nice conservatory to sit and relax in - nice selection of breakfast foods with ice cooked breakfasts 

Close to Gatwick Airport 

Great location! We had no trouble finding the No 20 bus which stops just a few metres from the B&B. (only 1 stop from the airport and £5 for 2). We were able to check in a little early, and wandered through the churchyard to the gorgeous old Six Bells pub, while we waited. Our hosts were delightful! The room was quiet, comfortable and had everything we needed. The walk up to the High Steet was pleasant. (There is a fabulous Turkish Barber up there!) Breakfast was plentiful. Lots of parking. We'd  definitely return.

Perfect nearby airport B&B.

Stayed overnight before early flight from gatwick. Few minutes walk to Ye Olde Six Bells pub along the church footpath for a good evening meal, Good buffet breakfast for early departures was much appreciated. Comfortable room with good shower, tea facilities etc.

Good location, clean and comfortable

1) The B&B is located in front of a high traffic street. Most rooms are located in front to this noisy street. If you have light sleep or are dealing with jetlag, it is very hard to sleep all night. We could not get a good night sleep two nights. Bring ear plugs, if you come. 
2) TVs are old, small 21", and turn on by pushing Source button on remote control, not Off/On, as we found out four hours after we looked for assistance (unavailable). 
3) The place does not have AC (only fans) and it can get hot if you close the windows to avoid the street noise. Temps outside were in the 50-60s.
4) Poor maintenance: light fixture in our bathroom did not work (bad bulb probably) and saw another guest asking for new bulbs for two fixtures in his room. 
5) Management was unreasonable with earlier room cancellation due to force majeure (bad weather in NYC did not allow us to fly in) after they were directly notified by email a day in advance.

Other than that, breakfast was good and Tony, the owner, is a friendly chap who had good recommendation to visit Brighton for the day.

Stay elsewhere

My husband and I stayed here the night before our departure out of Gatwick. We also left our car with them for the duration of our holiday. I cannot find fault with anything. The owners are welcoming and helpful prior to and upon your arrival/departure. Everything is set up for speed and convenience (access, taxis, leaving/collecting keys etc) the room is as you would expect from a B&B that I presume predominantly cater for persons flying in and out of Gatwick Airport. Room was a good size and clean! No aircraft noise either. The owners booked our taxi for us (payable directly to the driver) who arrived on time and was very helpful. We called the same firm when we arrived back at Gatwick (Roadrunners) and they text us the details of the taxi and pick up point, charge for the journey was £5! Bargain! (Booking a taxi through the airport taxi office as you exit arrivals will cost you £11! For the same trip) We also booked to have a meal at Ye Olde Six Bells only a couple of minutes walk away on the night of our stay. We will use Gatwick House again in the future and I fully recommend you book here!
