Its a Hidden Gem
First-class food, excellent service from Ash and the staff, quiet location
This was recommended by a friend, the food was excellent, Curries are amazing breakfast was one of the best I have had in a long time.
They also allow overnight parking if you are in a Camper van or motor home
We will return.

It's not possible to find a flaw anywhere! Kindness of staff (billage), cleanliness, food, rooms, beds, old style hostel, quality/price ratio. Formidable! The ideal place to discover part of Wales.

I've never given such a perfectly enthusiastic opinion!

We stayed here for my partner's 30th the night before a blacksmithing experience at Old Field Forge. We had a lovely stay and timed it perfectly as Tuesday's current night was fantastic! All the staff were extremely friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast was great with a lovely selection of continental options as well as a full English.

Lovely stay!

Stayed here 2 nights. The pub and rooms are nice  tastfully decorated lovely country pub feel. The rooms are clean but are staring to look tired. The lock on the main door looks loose and the walls in the hall could do with a refresh. Shower is good and powerful which is a plus. 

Arrived Tuesday night and was curry night. Food was fairly priced and was delicious. 

Wednesday morning had a lovely cooked breakfast of my choosing or choice of cereals. 

 Was out all day Wednesday on an experience day arrived back at 6pm only to be told the restaurant was closed. I did ask the waitress on the Tuesday night if food was available and was told yes. Then on the night told no. Wasn't given a local alternative as the main barman didn't speak much English or know the area. 

I just would have thought they would want the extra income from us ordering  food knowing we had booked a 2 night stay why would you not cater. We did find another place to eat but it was 5 miles away!!! 

To say rooms are from £88 per night  upwards I am disappointed in the way I was made to feel as a guest. You walk in and all the locals stare at you. The locals are clearly priority. If I would have known in advance about the lack of food available I would have book elsewhere. 

Until kick out time at 10.30pm you can here everyone at the bar talking which isn't very nice. 

Would I stay again. Absolutely not.

Nice place, but guests are an after thought

Enjoyed a fabulous chicken karai,  husband had the prawn one, extra hot. Ash the chef and owner is very friendly and extremely welcoming.  All the staff were wonderful.  Really enjoyed our visit. Thoroughly recommend

Curry night

We visited Garway for a wedding and the team at the Garway Moon Inn couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating, we’re so grateful. The team were extra flexible with our non-standard timings throughout our stay. We booked all 3 rooms and brought my elderly grandmother - they helped with the stairs (even going as far as measuring to put in a handrail as they realised it was necessary) as well as cooking her an extra meal outside of their hours on a day the kitchen was closed! The rooms were stunning and very comfy, incredibly spacious and the view from the sun room is extra special. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Thank you Garway Moon team!

Fantastic stay, fantastic team, beautiful surroundings

Unfortunately was only here for the weekend as we would have happily stayed a week. We stayed in The Sun room and it was wonderful. So clean. Comfy bed and what a view to wake up to across the green. After booking we were contacted to say that due to illness a cooked breakfast couldn't be provided but money was deducted off the bill, but cereals, yoghurts and fruit juice were still provided in our room. Would love to return. Thank you.

Wonderful stay.

My husband and I have just spent the best 5 days at the Garway moon, can honestly say that it’s the most friendly and welcoming place we have stayed in. Ash the owner is a lovely chap, so helpful and a genuine nice guy, the locals are lovely and we were welcomed by them, and after only a couple of hours were chatting away and drinking with them for the night. We had a forge experience and Ash dropped us off some lovely lunch. We stayed in the globe room overlooking the green, was lovely.  We will definitely be back much love Gem and Dave x

Absolutely fabulous

We stayed here with friends for a weekend break, my friend had an issue with the food, he mentioned it the the waitress Grace who offered free deserts, this was decilined so we were offered another bottle of wine instead, this was not upheld on check out ..

We won't be staying here again ..

We were a party of four staying in the Sun room and the Globe room for one night after visiting the three castles nearby. The late check in and early check out nearly put us off staying here but we decided to stay because of its good revues. On the night of our stay the bar was busy with a rugby croud watching the five nations in the bar. It was nice to see the croud enjoying themselves in the bar and although they were noisey it wasn't a problembut because the gents was used so much there was a strong smell of urine in the Sun room above. The smell dissapeared later after the large croud dispersed.  I noticed dirt on the stair carpet and dirty marks on the doors to the rooms along with stained carpets in the bedrooms. This may sound picky but the rooms although spacious are not cheap and I was expecting more.  We had a meal in the bar that night that was also dissapointing. We were served by Grace , who we found charming and a good host. We each had starters and three of us had steaks and my wife had squid. The chips were greasy and the squid had been cooked in the same deep fat cooker oil as the chips and tasted similar. The steak was slightly tough and when Grace asked us how the food was I mentioned that the steak was a little dissapointing. She took my plate to the kitchen and on returning said that the chef (Ash) agreed that it wasn't up to usual standard and offered us free sweets to compensate. We are not sweet eaters so I declined the offer and Grace suggested we might have one of our bottles of wine on the house instead. Unfortunately when we checked out Ash refused to knock the £18 bottle of wine off the bill and insisted we pay the £135 bill in full. I thought this was particularly mean spirited as we had also paid £220 for the rooms and I thought he should honour and back up the word of his staff. I can't recommend this restaraunt and I suspect word is spreading as the reataraunt was very quite for a Saturday night when all the other pubs in the area had signs out saying fully booked. We slept well in the rooms that were quite comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. It's just a shame we left on a sour note and not the best of memories.
