Family of 4, peak season. We knew it would be busy. We knew it wouldn't be 5 star. We were also confident of what most guests had said before being fairly accurate. Managing expectations is key to any holiday. We had a great time at Protur. The size and cleanliness of the hotel is perfect. Safari seemed too big and chaotic for us. The food at Vista Badia was far better than we expected. Sometimes AI food is drab, repetitiveand unimaginative, however, we thought there was a good selection of food and it was cooked well with good ingredients each day. We ate in 2 of the bookable restaurants and both were solid. The pool area is excellent for families - yes, busy, but always space to get involved. The real winner with this hotel though is the staff. The cleaning staff, the reception staff, restaurant staff and the bar staff were all superb: helpful, polite and friendly - all you can ask for. The child entertainers, with obvious varying degrees of experience, were all excellent and engaged the children well. I think a few really easy quick wins could be made with the evening entertainment (an obvious weak point) such as crowd involvement, kids talent shows etc, but apart from this we enjoyed our 10 nights and were sad to leave. AI holidays aren't really our 1st choice, but with the children being 4 and 8 we felt it worth another try. This hotel and staff have shifted our option somewhat and far exceeded our initial expectations. All the best to the team there for the rest of the year.
