We had a unique chance to stay for 10 nights in cottage-cave exactly the same as most Canarian dwellers lived for generations. Called Finca Nanita. This cottage combination of nature,tradition style and comfort. Steep drive way down to the cottage same like most of Canarians have to use living in the valleys. Comfortable parking spot. House not overlooked by any neighbors. Complete privacy guaranteed. One house close by on the bottom of the valley (3min walk) belongs to Paco. Lovely family, who look after this place we are staying. Ready for help with any questions we have. Accommodation is 20 min drive to most scenic places on the isle : Roque Bentayga,Roque Nublo and Pico de las Nieves ( if you are a keen rambler ) . From Pico ( you can drive right to the top ) the best view of Gran Canaria, spectacular Tenerife on the northwest with mount Teide!!! ( must see ) . From accommodation to the North coast 20 min (if you are a keen surfer - it is a surfers paradise) . Every evening we were back when it is already dark. Had a traditional glass of Moscato wine in Fontanales ( 2 min drive ristorante/bar Sibora exceptional food by the way). Then home. Hot Tub first of all (to take tiredness off, to relax muscles after hard walking but impressive with sight seeing places day). Hot Tub was absolutely a life saver. We loved it. Then cooking supper. Kitchen was very efficient. In the house was electric heating, for those who like it cosy in the house. Here up in the mountains 830m temperatures +10C at night, and +15C at day time. So if you get use to sleeping in Britain with open windows, that is your place to be. But if you up to very hot weather, then you are on the wrong side of the isle, you should be in Maspalomas (2hours drive) where +22 +30C normal temperatures. Well, we enjoyed our stay very much. Well done to those, who design and decorate this house, it is like a small museum of Canarian life (better, then a museum actually....).
