This is an ex-hotel.....I'm minded to quote from the Dead Parrot sketch of Monty Python fame. If you can stay here one night .....do....but don't expect it to actually operate as a hotel. It just a couple of floors offices, and the rest is virtually derelict. Someone might take money off you and show you into a room, but it is an architectural masterpiece. Enjoy it whilst its still with us.....

Not really a hotel in the accepted sense of the word

19 of us booked in for one night. Death trap hotel. Derelict floors, lifts not working. Handles missing off windows, stairs unlit as electrics removed. 4 trapped in lift for 90 minutes. Hotel failed to call fire brigade fearing clusure? No credit card machine, no milk for breakfast. Place should be closed down. Even the locals condemned it.

Dreadful. Fawlty Towers nightmare!

People trapped in lifts, floors in total darkness, flies in the rooms, pidgeons resident inside, and stuff just not working! This is an iconic building but probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, it really is a fire and safety risk to its customers

Dire Dire Dire!

The concrete Hotel Zlatibor in Uzice cannot be missed -it dominates the town's landscape but is very central & only a 5minute walk from the bus and railway station.
There are supposed to be 142rooms in this skyscraper but we were the only 2staying -even the receptionist asked us twice whether we were sure we wanted to stay.
An old, creaky lift took us to our room on the 9th floor -the room had an "antique radio & phone" -the beds were not comfortable nor the shower in the bathroom very powerful. There was no air-conditioning or wi-fi (except in the reception -though there were no chairs in the reception area) 
On the plus side the room was clean &offered good views over the town.
Be aware that reception is not open from midnight to 07.00 &that payment has to be made in cash.

Enormous skyscraper -a blot on the landscape

I'll start with the fact that I live right across the street from this hotel.What can I say.If you don't want to spoil your holiday, don't stay at this hotel.It's old and hasn't been renovated for quite a while.There's a house opposite the hotel, there are apartments rented out?Yes and 5 km away is the hotel Zlatiborska noć(Zlatiborská noc).The apartments cost 30 euros, a night in a hotel is around 40-55 euros.

I wouldn 't recommend it.

This remarkable hotel is getting an unjustified hammering on here. I stayed two nights, 17th & 18th April 2016. No, it does not meet modern standards. Yes, there are issues with dilapidation. But by staying there, you have are literally experiencing history. The decor (all of which is still perfectly functional) is unchanged since it was built in 1981, and mostly in original condition.

I really enjoyed my stay. The bedsheets were clean, the staff are all lovely, I was on the 13th floor with a spectacular view of the town, Stari Grad and River Detinja. Hot water took a few minutes but was strong and consistent. Sumptuous breakfast of omelette, yoghurt, bread & jam and Turkish coffee, served by a waiter, included.

Now I'm not saying it will be for everyone: but if you're into retro architecture and Yugostalgia, it can't be missed.



An alternative view

I've never seen a worse hotel in my life. I'll start with the fact that half of the hotel is closed for repairs, there are wires hanging, there are bare concrete walls, there are no windows anywhere. The doors in the rooms don't close. English nobody understands. At the reception you have to leave a passport (!). Breakfast - 3 sausages, sometimes even no tea, instead of yogurt (about coffee I don't know at all), and if there is tea, it's probably not very decent in color, yes and taste too.

It's awful.

The state of the hotel is catastrophic pumping you pay 3600 dinars the electrical outlets hang on the wall the water is warm but never hot the carpet is full of stains the bedroom and bathroom was room, the bathroom was in poor condition briefly if you really have no other solution plan a sleeping bag to sleep

It's a decent hotel to stay on the road. We stayed here for a night with a bus tour late at night, I can't tell you about the price. The Soviet spirit, of course, hovers, but is it that important? The view from the outside is impressive. The feeling of emptiness, loneliness from the inside. His idea is solid, but he doesn't seem to be using his possibilities.

The normal transit hotel

We came to this hotel late at night - because it was the only hotel in the gades that seemed affordable. But when we got there we realized that we couldn't stay there under any pretext - it was better to go back to Zlatibor! hotel is absolutely monstrous - such a ghost of Soviet times. It is quite expensive and at the reception we were met by a woman from that time. The overall feeling is quite awful. When we got there, there was a wedding there - and the two undersigned guys spoke to us very kindly, grabbed us and said - take your feet away from here this terrible terrible hotel!
