We wanted a short break near the coast and beach, but also the peace and tranquillity that Casa Paz was able to offer. Approximately ten to fifteen minutes from the property is the Town / City of Tavira, a lively and welcoming place straddling the river that runs through the centre and interconnected by various bridges, here you will find many restaurants and bars, lining the waterfront and down the various alleyways and squares, as well as shops, a most wonderful fish market, plus butchers and local vegetable growers all under one roof, there are beautiful churches, ramparts and gardens plus many other things to interest and stimulate too varied to go into here. Casa Paz itself is delightful, nestled in the hills above Tavira the views and sunsets are simply breathtaking, and Mark and Lizzie are the most wonderful and friendly hosts, never intrusive but always on hand should you need some ideas or simply a recommendation be it a restaurant, bar, or maybe somthing cultural, Mark and Lizzie really know their stuff when it comes to food, drink and even music based events, particularly those special places only local knowledge is aware of. The room we had was super clean, well appointed, very stylish and only a few steps to the wonderful pool and lounge area, the place has a unique feel about it and we loved every part of our stay, not least the gorgeous continental breakfasts taken on the terrace overlooking the valleys and surrounding hills. You will need a car if you want to travel about a bit, or visit the local hill top villages with their traditional bars and high elevation views over Portugal and Spain, and we picked our incredibly good value rental up at the airport, but equally you could get the transfer service the hosts offer if you're not planning on leaving the property, but in our opinion that would be a shame as there is just so much to see and do ! All in all a fabulous break, and we wouldn't hesitate to return when next in town, indeed we can't wait, as Mark and Lizzie are adding to, and improving the property for the benefit of their guests all the time, we will be back.

The sort of place you'd love to live if only you could.....

A cottage and villa situated in the picturesque hills of Tavira with an infinite amount of stunning views. 
The property is only a ten minute drive from the historic city of Tavira, where you will find amazing restaurants, beaches and cafes.

The cottage itself is beautifully finished and decorated, with plenty of open space and communal areas. During our stay we were given access to use of all the facilities, including: swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. 

Liz and Mark were the perfect hosts and we were all made to feel more than welcome. They had many suggestions for restaurants, bars and beaches etc. so be sure to ask! 

Needless to say we will be returning as soon as we can!

Tranquility at it’s finest!

The cottage and villa at Casa Paz were absolutely immaculate and finished to perfection with a number of facilities available such as a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna.

Casa Paz is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills within a short driving distance to Faro airport and the town of Tavira where there is plenty of places to eat and drink with stunning beaches near by. 

This truly is a beautiful and private place to stay!

The hosts were incredibly welcoming and ensured our stay was perfect. Huge thanks to Liz and Mark - we can’t wait to come back for our next holiday!

Perfect stay at Casa Paz!

Our stay at The Cottage was perfect from start to finish. Mark and Liz welcomed us and ensured our holiday was super relaxing. Caza Paz is truly beautiful and we enjoyed lounging by the pool, eating lunch in the shaded areas, cooking dinner in The Cottage as well as eating out in places recommended by our hosts! Tavira has so much to offer that we are already planning our return trip! Thank you so much!

Beautiful views and accommodation!

After spending 1 week enjoying the sunshine, views and facilities at Casa Paz I can safely say this is a must visit! 

Just a short journey from the city of Tavira this quaint cottage has endless amounts to offer. The city itself plays host to numerous different cuisines and restaurants that were all recommended to us during our stay. All offering views that felt like they had been cropped straight from a postcard! 

A short ferry ride to Tavira Island allowed us to enjoy just one of the various beaches accessible within 20 minutes of the property! 

Fantastic hosts, we will be returning!

A Portuguese Well-being Wonderland

Whole hotel has been recently refurbished to a beautiful standard. Immaculate rooms with all the facilities that you can think of. Stunning morning coffee views over the hillside. Perfect scenery and location. Amazing swimming pool, sun bed area with hot tub and sauna also. Everywhere was perfectly clean. Short drive to beautiful town of Tavira with shops, bars, restaurants etc. And amazing beaches nearby. Hosts were warm and incredibly welcoming with impeccable attention to detail, which was evident throughout the accommodation.

A beautiful and tranquil holiday

The staff there are very friendly, breakfast was very good and if you ask for something they will give it very quickly their rooms and bathrooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable.

A weekend in a hotel

Casa Paz do Barrocal is not your average fancy hotel, it is a place to resplenish your soul and your mind. The wonderful hosts share their knowledge of pottery, healthy food and the surrounding nature with their guests, as well as a smoothly running Bed and Breakfast with all the amenities you need. We had the most relaxing week in this nature's paradise and enjoyed every minute of it. This place has a big heart and if that is what you need and want you will have a magical time.

The most relaxing experience in a wonderful landscape

Helga and Mario started up this B&B not that long ago. They are very helpfull and gentil hosts. Nice and healthy breakfast (smoothie, cheese, choco !! ...:-), relaxing. Clean and fresh swimming pool : as it should be!
