The quality, luxury and ambience of Corbett House is a match for the best of those. To stay there is to step back in time and immerse yourself in the understated elegance of a 1920s stately rural home. Do it. You are greeted by Dave and Anja Corbett, one of the most inspiring and engaging couples you could ever meet. They are open, warm and welcoming. Their first concern is to provide whatever you need and nothing you don't. They have three enchanting small dogs. If you tell them you like dogs, you'll meet them as well. Dave Corbett's predecessors built the home. He and Anja bought it in 2018 and set up the B&B business in it, lovingly and tastefully furnishing it with breathtaking period pieces. Everything about the place reflects their cateful attention to detail. Outside, the garden is laid out and crafted with the same care and sheer class. Heritage roses dominate it, leaving you awestruck. Native trees frame the house, and behind it is a small padlock with a few sheep. It's simply marvellous. Dave has a deep love of vintage vehicles, and I was lucky enough to see and admire his restored Chevy pickup. The Corbett's high standards are evident in everything they do. Avail yourself of Anja's amazing breakfast. Sumptuous continental fare including Anja's own incomparable muesli, with a selection of fruit, yoghurt, croissants and coffee, al to the highest standard. They also offer a traditional full cooked breakfast. Anja is an artist, and she showed us her current work in progress, a glorious pastel of a young woman. Dave and Anja are two lovely people who provide an excellent, peaceful experience for their guests. We felt privileged to have stayed there.
