Bluemoon Lodge - Hostel

Clean, comfortable and good value. We stayed in the apartment which was spacious and had a great balcony looking out over Havelock. It's not The Ritz, but it's unpretentious and friendly and I would certainly stay there again

Great location in central Havelock handy to cafes and restaurants. Pleasant, relaxed common areas both inside and outside.

Arrived to find that we'd been upgraded which was a lovely surprise, thank you.

Our stay at the Blue Moon Lodge was fantastic. 
The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the rooms clean and comfortable. 
The communal kitchen and lounge area both have great facilities, amongst a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. 
The WiFi worked and the showers were great. 
Shane also organised some fantastic well organised mountain bike transfers to nearby tracks (Whakamarina and Nydia). 
A very highly recommended place to stay!

Stayed at Bluemoon over a long weekend for a biking holiday for 3 days. We road White’s bay, Nydia and Wakamarina. Shane ferried is around to all these trails and provided good tips and banter. The accommodation was perfect, good communal cooking areas, good wifi, excellent hot water, excellent atmosphere, clean, comfortable. It’s next to the main road so expect some road noise. Great recommendations for dinner.

We were lucky to be upgraded to the top room with splendid views, plenty of space and a balcony.

A place for backpackers which welcomed us, a senior couple. Why this place has a 2.9 is unjustified. The ambiance is friendly. People who pay one star should not expect five star lodging.

Stayed one night prior to going on Nydia Track walk.  Excellent facilities and welcome.  We arrived late but information and check-in made very easy and straightforward. Great location and facilities. Recommended.

Cosy kitchen. Didn't much like the room, which was a concrete box, but serviceable enough for a quick overnight stay after catching the late ferry.

Stayed over Xmas period - was a little hesitant to be honest, so upgraded to the apartment. It was totally worth it. The main room was large with high ceilings, lots of light/windows, fantastic view of Havelock, comfortable bed, great shower and bathroom and massive balcony.  Staff were really friendly.

A perfect base for mountain biking adventures!

Shredding the trails 

We enjoyed our time at the Bluemoon Lodge.  It is reasonably priced and falls between a hostel and a hotel.  A bit closer to a hotel in that you can have a private room and bath, but don't expect extra services.  The staff was friendly and the room was tidy. The fridge in the room gave us a good chuckle.  The lodge is also the starting point for the Pelorus Eco Adventure Kayak trip, which was the main reason we selected the lodge.

Quite homely plus it had a sauna!Very pleasant and helpful staff. Located on the main street through Havelock. Also handy for the marina.

Room was a great size for four people. Lovely large deck with a view of the boats. Good cooking facilities if needed. We walked to dinner (there were lots of options).
