Super cozy place in the edge of Greymouth. Great location vor visiting Arthur´s Pass national park.
The owners are super friedly, supportive and make you feel welcome. The accomodation is clear, spacious, quite and elegant. Big and comfortable bathroom included. I really admire owners doing this enerprise in their age, but you can see it is their hobby and seeing a map with pins on location of all of tgeir guests is impressive.
My only complaint is regarding breakfast. Although in general very good, demanding extra 15 bucks for scrambled eggs and bacon seems a little unnecessary to me.

It has been several years since I stayed in a B & B and I was not too sure how I was going to like it as opposed to staying in hotels. We were on a driving trip of the South Island and this accommodation was booked towards the end of our trip for one night. There was no problem in locating the place as the GPS took us right in front of it. We reached a bit earlier than expected and found a notice on the window telling us that the Check In Time 4pm onwards!. We drove back a short distance to the town and had a good look around. On our return after 4pm we were greeted by Ellen, a very likeable friendly landlady who showed us to our clean and well appointed room. The room is accessed from outside which made it easy to take our luggage in and out. There is car parking space with sufficient room to turn around. The room had a good sized comfortable double bed and a single bed. Across the corridor we can use a TV room which had a fridge and coffee/tea making facilities, to be shared with the occupants of another room which we never used. There are plug points to charge your gadgets. WiFi coverage was good. Along the corridor there is a spacious and well fitted bathroom, exclusive for our use. The other room has its own bathroom. Ellen and her equally friendly husband, Morrell, live on one side of the bungalow which is at the end of the corridor. We had continental breakfast giving us more than adequate choice. Choice of cooked breakfast was also on the offer at a small additional cost. There is a well maintained garden and a functioning waterwheel, made by Morrell, both adding to the character of the place. On the whole, it was a real pleasure meeting the two charming owners and enjoying their warm hospitality albeit only for a day! I have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and friendly place to stay, close to the town. Best wishes to both Ellen and Morrell for 2019 and onwards.

Ellen was a great hostess and her B&B was as bright, fresh and clean as a new pin.  She so obviously takes great pride in keeping the place so.  I would recommend this B&B to anyone wanting inexpensive but lovely accommodation with a welcoming and thoroughly professional staff.  Ellen's tips for seeing Greymouth and finding somewhere to eat were very welcome.

A great place to stay in Greymouth.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the North Shore Bed & Breakfast.  Our hosts, Ellen and Morral (sp?) were as gracious and kind as they could be.  We shared photographs of spectacular sunsets (almost nightly in Greymouth) and they helped us plan exciting day trips to Pancake Rock, and Hokitika, and many other spectacular stops in the surrounding area.  
The B&B is very well maintained, quite new, in fact.  Comforters and electric blankets on the king size bed and a heater in the room meant we were warm all the time.  The sparkly clean bathroom was large and very warm.  We also had a guest TV area that we only used for coffee in the morning.  The continental breakfast is superb:  freshly made fruit cocktail was perfect on the variety of cereals available.  They also have an optional full breakfast but we never found a need to take advantage of that.  We would definitely stay there again.  You should, too!

3 nights on Bright Street!

Clean and tidy, nice bathroom. Lovely host. Separate lounge with TV. Rooms a little hard to heat, beds very comfortable, plenty of blankets. Would have loved a heated towel rack in the bathroom.
Lovely breakfast in the host’s very warm lounge.
