What a wonderful place and such good value. The hosts were absolutely charming and attended to all our needs promptly. Such a comfortable room with a separate, dedicated guest lounge. Breakfast was superb. We have no hesitation in strongly recommending the Downs.

Friendly welcome from the Myron and Alison. The homely B&B provided clean rooms, comfy beds and a hearty breakfast, a perfect stopover on our journey from Christchurch to Queenstown. Than you. Penny and family.

We just loved our stay at The Downs and only regret it was for just the one night. It is simply wonderful and the hosts Myron and Alycen are great company. There is a lovely guest lounge with a complimentary drinks cabinet and a lovely outside decking area to sit and look out over the beautiful gardens which are full of bird song all day (the dawn chorus is incredible!) Fantastic breakfast the next morning cooked freshly to order. Even Max the cat made us feel welcome!

Our hosts were lovely and took us in when our travel plans were disrupted by severe weather.  There are a mix of room sizes and types available.  The breakfast was delicious.  They even had a few toys available for our 2 year old to play with in the lounge.

We stayed overnight with Myron and Alison.  They have a beautiful garden which was just starting to bloom for spring.  It was lovely to sit in their guest lounge and look out at the garden.  Breakfast before we left was beautifully presented and very tasty.  We also enjoyed meeting Max the cat!  We would heartily recommend this bed and breakfast.
