Riad 144

We were delighted and so happy with our choice of accommodation. We wanted our first trip to Africa to be authentic and this Riad was one of the best choices we made. It is NOT a standard hotel like we usually stay and I loved the authenticity and charm as well as the obvious pride the owner and staff took in caring for this lovely property. The staff was the shining star of our stay. The manager, Ahmed, arranged everything we wanted. He arranged our pickup at the airport as well as someone to meet us and transfer our bags to the Riad upon arrival in the old town. It was a small walk through the charming old streets late at night so we were very glad of the help. He arranged two tours for us, a desert adventure and a tour of the highlights of the city andthe souq by tuck tuck. We had him set up a visit to the on site Hamman and a massage (both services done by two lovely sisters who did a GREAT job) as well as dinner on two nights in the Riad and a reservations at a nearby restaurant. The Riad is perfectly located to explore Marrakech. The rooms are lovely and authentic art work of northern Africa was everywhere. The bed was comfy, the AC worked well, bathroom amenities were good and the whole Riad was well maintained and kept very clean. This was accomplished by three lovely ladies Karima, Fatima and Khallka. Dont be suprised if they bring you a delicious glass of iced tea when you are at the pool for a dip. The breakfast was cooked by their chef, Aicho, who also made our dinners. She is a great cook and her french toast was the hit of our morning. She kindly instructed me on her technique so I could delight my grand children when I got home. Last but not least was Abdullah. He is the night manager and helped us so much during our stay. His lovely smile and gracious service were heart felt and we felt so valued by all of the staff during our stay. I recommend Riad 144 and hope to visit again someday.
