I had a lovely stay in Old Mazatlan Inn. The rooms are like little flats complete with kitchens and living rooms. It features a courtyard with grills and a pool with beautiful shrubs growing around it. The inn is very close to almost all the main tourist attractions. Its around 2 blocks from the beach at Olasaltas and almost 3 blocks from Centro. Its a great place to experience the local culture and people. O'neil was very friendly and the staff were also helpful. All in all the hotel was great !

This little jewel sits on a hill overlooking the Cathedral and the historic center of Mazatlan.  It features a lovely courtyard with grills and a pool and great views from the roof top.  O'neil is very friendly and the staff check on your regularly to ensure you have everything you need.   I was traveling on my own, and the staff, other guests and the owners that were on site, we're all very kind.   When you leave the condo you're 3 blocks from the Cathedral and 2 blocks from the beach at Olasaltas, which also features many restaurants with views of the water.   Be sure to spend some time walking the malecon (walkway) along the waterfront.   The main hotel zone is at the opposite side of town, which was just fine with me.   I wanted to experience the local culture and people.  I especially enjoyed seeing the neighbors sitting out visiting each time I came and went from the condos. I always felt very safe, day or night and my room was simple but clean and the little kitchen was well appointed.

My wife and I planned to visit Mazatlan for two nights in mid January 2014 but we had not booked a place to stay. We had read several positive comments about the Old Mazatlan Inn and duely contacted the owner by telephone to enquire about the availability of a studio apartment for our proposed stay. What a positive and professional response we received from O'Neil Patrick McGean (owner). He advised that YES a studio was available at US$69 per night, he would hold it for us, no deposit was required and we need only send an email to advise of our arrival time. By return of emails O'Neil confirmed the reservation and he was there to greet us on our arrival the following afternoon. O'Neil showed us the Inn and our delightful, colourful studio, which was high up ovelooking the lovely Historic Centre of Mazatlan - which was just a 5 minute walk from the Inn (now renamed Old Mazatan Condominiums). We could NOT have been more pleased with our studio accommodation, the ideal location of the condominium, the peace and quiet and the efficient and friendly service provided by O'Neil and staff. Rather than describe the accommodation and services provided I suggest that readers look at the www.oldmazatlancondos.com website and the three most recent TripAdvisor reviews. We were delighted with our simple and very adequate 'jewel of an inn' in Mazatlan, its convenient and safe location and the professional efficiency and charm of O'Neil. What a great value in Mazatlan!

I am rarely to never inspired to write reviews of anything but we had such a lovely stay at the Old Mazatlán Inn that I feel compelled to recommend it to other travelers. 

Old Mazatlán Inn is located near the historic Centro of Mazatlán, it is a couple of blocks from one of the nicest beaches in the city and close to a variety of restaurants. It's nowhere near the majority of most of the hotels, meaning it's a much quieter, more genuine part of Mazatlán. 

The rooms are actually condos so in each unit there is everything you could possibly need - a small kitchen, a television, desk, chairs, etc. The inn is charming. A lot of attention has been paid to the decor and design of the units and the outside spaces. The terraces are one very nice feature - you can see the ocean as well as the city. 

As nice as all this was, the best part of our stay (and why I felt like I should write this review) is because the hosts at the Old Mazatlán Inn made us feel so comfortable and welcome. We were traveling in Mazatlán during the off season so there weren't many people staying at the Inn. I feel like it would be easy to kind of forget about us but they didn't. In fact, they went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. During our stay a tropical storm/hurricane hit Sinaloa to the north of Mazatlán so as one could imagine there was quite a bit of rain. Some of which made it's way into our room under the door (we were not surprised or upset, that's the kind of thing that happens when rain and wind are battering a condo). We were pleasantly surprised to come back from lunch and find that our room had been mopped and the water taken care of (unasked!) our hosts decided to move us into a larger unit for the issue (also, unasked). Our hosts were able to answer questions about things to do in Mazatlán and ensured that we had everything we needed during our stay. O'Neil and Jorge made our stay very pleasant and should we find ourselves in Mazatlán again, we know where we will be staying.

Been going to Mazatlan for 14 year. Oneil does a great job here. Wonderful friendly very clean great stall and better guests. Will be back in January. Close to old town and beaches. The staff will recommend local sites to visit
