The location of this hostel is perfect, but thats about it.

The room is dirty and there are a lot of bugs, the owner didn't take us seriously when we complained about this. The bed is old and very uncomfortable. When it rains, the walls get wet. You can hear everything when someone moves on the upper floor. 
The showers are worse, not clean and a lot of insects.

Good location, dirty hostel

I spent my first night in Penang in tihs inn, and my trip was destroyed. The shared bathroom is dirty, and so is the room. There are many bugs in the room (and they seems to come out from the bed....), and I got bitten all around my body. I asked the receptionist to give some insecticide, but he just said 'you need to kill them if you see them' and advised me to move to other hostel or guesthouse.... until now I cannot go anywhere in Penang  because it's awfully itchy and hurts. :(

Very DIRTY place to stay

guest inn muntri is a good hostel but made great by the company of Toni hes more than helpful with advice and any problems you may have!  Hes also very nice to talk to and interested in what you have to say!  My experience there wouldve been completely different if he wasnt there. 

Hostel stay

The problem is that the noises are generated by the owners placing at 8am (every morning) the music super loud. We sleep in the upper room, with wooden floor, no soundproofing (any commentary on any bass came), but also with the music quite loud. I slept in places worse than these in terms of dirt, but perhaps not so much in terms of respect for the customer.

It would be decent, but it's very noisy and expensive for what they offer.

Rooms are very average, fairly gross mattress but location is good. Very overpriced for what you get. Better off getting a hostel or another hotel and getting an uber for about 3 RM to Lovelace road where the food/ drinks are.

Average at most.

Might be dangerous even to go past this house on the street. The room full of ants with their highways on the floor and walls, the bed (actually only the remaining metal construction of the mattress) extremely uncomfortable, totally infested with bed bugs, mosquitos are only the cherry on top. Only one of two bathrooms working, not so the shower inside. Since you're forced to go barefoot around, you take the disgusting mud from the floor of the bathroom with you wherever you go. "Breakfast" is only bread (moldy again) and some strange homemade purple stuff. Mold is everywhere on the walls, the whole place is wet and dampy. If you value your health, stay far away from this infested hole.

Insect galore-serious health risk!

The facility is easily accessible from the Penang Pier in about 15 minutes on foot. The very courteous staff makes available to guests a tea kit and a fresh water dispenser in the hall. I stayed one night in a single room with air conditioning for just under 10€. The room, of modest size, was not particularly clean and unfortunately some insects entered the room from holes in the wall.

Discrete room, great location.

I found this guest house correct his own rooms the price is reasonable breakfast not famous but there is a good place where you can have lunch near this guest house the reception is warm located near the beautiful things to see I advise you to take the rooms on the first floor it is less noisy

I'm good.

The cost of a room with a shared bathroom is 14 euros a night. Although it's small and windowless, it's clean, and it's ideal for 2/3 days in Georgetown before returning to the neighboring countries.

Nice staff and great location.

The hotel is located in Muntri Street, an inner but convenient way to reach the main places of interest of the city. The furnishing with tables and chairs both outside and in the hall, creates a place of aggregation very similar to that of a hostel. The rooms are simple and essential, not very large but still quite functional (not in the bathroom). The staff is kind and available, in the morning they offer breakfast and tea throughout the day.
