We originally booked for 3 nights, but only ended up staying for 1. I'll start with the positives - the location is very convenient in terms of centralisation and the staff are in general kind. Now for the bad. When we arrived, it took a little while for someone who could understand English to check us in, and even then he took a while with our passports and finding our booking. We were originally told that we would be getting 2 beds, as we had requested online, but then we were shown to a room with only one large bed and told there were no other rooms available. The room was very dark and the bedsheets were off white and partially stained. Then we went into the bathroom and let them know that there were hairs everywhere and asked them to clean it. Unfortunately, their version of "cleaning" it was to take the toilet squirter and just spray everything down, leaving the bathroom soaked. So in order to not get my feet wet, or sit on a wet toilet seat, I had to take a towel myself and wipe everything down. The towel went black instantly. It was quite a hot evening and muggy room with mosquitoes, so it would have been nice to turn either the fan or the aircon on, however I refused to once I saw the immense dust build up. Like I said, the staff were kind, so we kindly forfeited our second and third nights' stay and went elsewhere, letting them know it just wasn't clean enough for us. It's disappointing, because my father and brother had a nice enough stay here 3 years ago, I just think that the new staff to this hotel just don't care as much in terms of keeping it clean. I appreciate them for putting us up nonetheless, I just hope they come to understand that more effort and attentiveness needs to be put in in order for them to have more success. I genuinely wish them well in the future and hope this improves.

Good location, but no care in cleanliness

I only tried the restaurant: the worst experience of three weeks in Laos. The ransom of an exceptional situation: no attention to the customer, really bad dishes, redemptive portions and a boss who was told our dissatisfaction and completely disliked it.

Avoid it at all costs.

Stayed in this place for just one night on the way back from Phonsavan. I was given a triple room ie. one double bed and one single bed. The size of the room(No.15) shouldn't post any problem for three persons with pack. The bath room is quite big as well and the hot water pressure was adequate. The hall facing windows are screened but there is NO natural day light. The TV reception is lousy but no one comes to Laos to watch TV!.
Hot and cold water and coffee(instant) are provided FOC. Same applied to everywhere I had stayed in the country.
Will stay again.

Just one night

We stayed in the first floor and at 5 am they started to watch TV in very high volume and were very noisy in general - we couldn't sleep.
The bed sheets were dirty,
The room it self is ok and very basic.
The only advantage is the location which is central.
Try to find anywhere else to stay. 

Very noisy and dirty bedsheets

The lady from the Croissant d'or sent me there telling me that she wouldn't rent rooms anymore. The room I got was the most disgusting in 16 days Asia with bike and on backpacking. The bedding was dirty and probably hasn't been changed for weeks or for many residents. The towels were just as dirty. The owners were absent. The best and the location is probably the location. Pretty much on our bike. Can really just recommend taking this. There are certainly a lot of better accommodations. And the booking trick I've obviously already reported.

Disgusting.

Six of us stayed at this SACKARINH hotel for 4 nights n had a wonderful time. Hotel is strategically located as only 5 min walk to d trailhead of Phousi Hill, Royal Palace n 2 min to the night market. 
The hotel staff is helpful although there is a language barrier. The room is quite clean n not noisy at night for a peaceful rest at night. It is also 1 min walk to witness the religious alms giving. Will stay here again in future for Luang Prabang trip.

Strategic n Convenient !!!

I would say the only good thing about this accommodation is the price and the location. The wifi did also work well.

Our bedding was dirty and the duvet smelt really bad! The aircon ceased working on the second night, the room was dirty and the shower head was broken. 


Dirty bedding 

The staff at check-in and check-out does their job without any words. We haven't seen any staff around whenever we left or came back from our room. The room was not clean, the bed was and the bathroom was filthy. I would not stay there again. The good thing is the location. It is directly on one of the streets with restaurants etc. I think you could get something much nicer for the same price if you are willing to walk to the "town-centre" for 10 minutes.

Filthy rooms but central

We had booked only one night (happily ever after), and as soon as we arrived, the person at the reception who only speaks English tells us that the wifi doesn't work when we're picking up the network... in short, he takes us to the room and there are dirty sheets, really, and we decide to check the mattress against bed bugs and bingo! So at 21:30 at night we decide to leave and change... I don't know if there's a way to get a refund or what?

Avoid - dirt + bed bugs

I spent two nights at the Sackarinh. Room is nothing. The cost - 180,000 kips (almost 21 euros), no breakfast - is not justified, except that it is on the main street, but it overlooks a courtyard with cocks singing from four onwards. I immediately warned that the mirror was missing in the bathroom but no one cared about it except at the time of payment when, at the sight of less money, the mirror suddenly appeared in the hands of the owner. But at that point it was too late.
