Great place to stay 
Family owned and run with impeccable service and hospitality.
Right in amongst the snow with direct access to the Akakura ski lift and ski fields
Wouldn't stay anywhere else unless i have to

A great family run hotel. Great location, huge rooms and breakfast was great. The onsen on premise was ideal after a long day out on the snow. 

Highly recommended if you are staying in Myoko Kogen and free wifi was handy as well.

Been to a lot of places all around the world but the sun hotel myoko is hands down the best , not because it's new but because the services was amazing felt like a king the whole time there, based in the centre of myoko you can even ski to the hotel, they offer discounted rates for all ski hills, the onsen was awesome too, will be back very soon, thank you

I took my two kids skiing for the first time. The Sun Hotel was run by a super friendly family, making the whole experience so welcoming. My kids and I slept in a typical Japanese style room, with tatami mat floors and futon beds for a total authentic experience. At the end of a great days skiing you can hit the hot springs in the basement to sooth the muscles. We took the breakfast option, which as basic, but fine for a start to the day. You can almost ski in and out of the hotel, it is only about 20 meter walk to the hill to the nearest chairlift. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough, I will be back for sure. Domo Arigato to Wakui-san and her family.

Nice Japanese style room with ensuite and nice view. Breakfast was Western or Japanese and enough to fill us up for most of the day.  Ski storage downstairs and bookable onsen.  Owners happy to give us a lift to the supermarket or train station. One street away from the home ski run.
