Hakuba Landmark Happo Lodge

Paul & Tracy were excellent hosts creating a warm, welcoming and relaxed environment. The breakfast was excellent and catered for vegetarians. Paul went above and beyond helping us with whatever we needed and making us feel comfortable.

I’m usually the type of person who likes the big chain hotels, but we wanted to stay very close to the slopes, so gave this hotel a try. 

And we were so happy we did. The owners, Paul and Tracy, and their staff bent over backwards to help us and were so friendly and lovely, offering ice creams and a freshly restocked chocolate basket every day. 

Don’t expect luxury accommodation, but it was clean, close to the slopes and everything was great. The breakfast was different every day, and the attitude of the owners made it a brilliant stay. 

Very cute, warm lounge to relax in at night. 

All the small touches made it worth it, like the owners putting out our ski gear every morning. Would recommend if you want to be very close to the slopes. Not cheap, but nothing really is in Hakuba. And we were happy with our choice

A wonderful stay. The owners are so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are good size, very comfortable, 2 min walk to the ski lifts. 15 min stroll into town! It is uphill on the way back but it’s a nice walk after dinner. Good breakfast. Highly recommend!

I stayed here for a week with my son in February 2020. We were primarily there to ski. The hotel is well located very close to a ski hire shop (Rhythm) and to a chair lift. The rooms were good, spacious/, with a great shower and comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was fine but it would have been good if there was a greater variety of cereals and muesli and even some fruit! Otherwise I'd recommend staying here.

We have just spent 9 great nights at the landmark Happo lodge and we have loved every minute of it.
The breakfast is served every morning at 7:30am which was a great start to every day.
The lodge is only meters from the closest chair lift at Happo-one.
We only had a short walk to Rhythm Sports which is also the location of the bus stop to catch the bus to other mountains.
The staff are always very kind and helpful, they always helped book restaurant and Paul was always happy to give us a lift there.
The rooms are very large and very warm.
When we return to Hakuba in the future we will definitely be returning to the Landmark Happo lodge.

After staying with Paul and Tracey for the second year I would like to thank them again for their great personal service and hospitality.
All staff at the hotel are super friendly and always willing to help out.
The hotel is in a great location close walk to lots of bars and restaurant and very close to bus routes and ski lifts.

We highly recommend the Hakuba Landmark Happo Lodge. Our hosts we extremely welcoming and helpful during or stay.  The rooms were generous in size, the breakfasts western style - every variety of eggs that you could think of, and the lodge is easy walking distance to the ski lift at Happo One or the shuttle service to other resorts.

The staff at The Landmark Happo Lodge were so welcoming and helpful.  From pick up at the bus station to drop off, they provided us with helpful information, restaurant and transfer advice.  I have never encountered such friendly service.  

The lodge is clean and cosy.  The rooms are generous in size.  The lounge area is a great spot to unwind after a day of skiing, with a vending machine for apres ski drinks.  The breakfasts each morning were western-style with numerous variations of bacon and eggs, muffins and french toast. There was also jam and vegemite for your toast as well as coffee, tea and juice.

We stayed for a whole week, and enjoyed every minute.
I would highly recommend this lodge.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay with the amazing Paul and Tracey. Such lovely hosts who could not be more obliging and helpful. A lovely hot breakfast and very comfortable room. Paul has fantastic knowledge off all hakubas hidden secrets. My teenage boys loved Paul and all his lovely staff. Would definitely recommend Happo one Landmark five out of five😁😁

My son thought that schoolies would be much better spent skiing in Japan, and what a great decision. Hakuba landmark Happo lodge was THE PERFECT choice. Our room was beautifully presented, warm and comfortable. Our host, Paul picked us up at the station and drove us through the streets of Happoone to orient ourselves, which was great as it increased our excitement. Breakfasts are filling, with a blend of Western and Japanese and the apres around the fire after a big day on the slopes was great. The lodge is intimate without being intimidating. Paul and Tracy are the most wonderfully accomodating owners and their staff are warm, friendly and obliging. We cant wait to return again. Its a very very special place.

Absolutely brilliant

We really enjoyed our stay here at this quaint lodge which which was very central to chairlifts for a number of runs.  Easy walk to many eating option and to rythym sports centre and THE PUB.  The lounge was the perfect place to unwind with a few drinks after a long day on the mountain.  Paul and his family were wonderful hosts and eager to accomodate.  

Fantastic location 

My partner and I had an exceptional time here!  Paul, Tracy and all their staff were incredibly helpful and made our trip to Hakuba a great one.  The lodge itself was a great place to rest after a day of skiing or exploring surrounds. It is also located in walking distance to the gondola which was a massive bonus. Would love to be back!!!
