The house boat is well maintained. The bed were warm with theatre.the food were delicious. Over all nice experience The room were clean.the hospitality is too good.the facilities were great.would recommend this place

I visit Kashmir as a Sri Lankan traveler and in all seasons. I always stay at Golden Privilege Houseboats that is owned by Mr.Feroz Baktoo who is an amazing host. The houseboat has a homely ambience and is located at a peaceful place in Dal Lake. Appreciate the cleanliness of the place and moreover the hospitality of the host is remarkable. You will have the best days in Kashmir here in an authentic houseboat with the delicious local cuisine. I recommend this place anytime whenever you visit Kashmir!

I was traveling with my friends, I had lovely time , the view is nice from houseboat,  very quite and relaxing, tasty home made food , clear  and satinzed, I will diffenetly come,  thanks golden privilege team ,

It is a big regret for this trip! We should have stayed longer here - this heritage 65 years old houseboat was outstanding which you can feel “Kashmir” from every corner plus adorned with the tranquilizing nature from all sides especially at night when the twinkling lights across the lake could be seen that made me think of how good it could be if there is someone special by my side and hold me tight in front of the Great Himalayas. 💙

We were welcomed warmly by the great warm host, Fearooz Baktoo known as my Kashmiri papa with homemade Kashmiri dinner. The 2nd night stay after the Gulmarg trip, We took a sightseeing boat in the evening. The hawkers come with their stuff on the boat and give you a good price (always said this) which is like the floating market in Thailand, I would say. The scenery is stunning at that time and better with all Kashmiri smiles, looked up at the night sky is superb with plenty of stars and full moon.

The other facilities that the host is pleased to offer are Trekking, Fishing, and all Adventure Activities which will spread over the feeling you have to enjoy it from different perspectives.

We spent only 2 nights here and to this day I have not forgotten the wonderful time we had. Everyone who is a part of it, is like a family. It is not just a houseboat, it is home.

We all loved here and wish that we could have stayed longer. We will be back for sure 🤗

We stayed in this houseboat for 2 days. This is a luxury houseboat with the view of Himalayan ranges and it is very peaceful place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Mr Feroz is an amazing person and he guided us a lot. The hospitality was excellent and we felt like homestay. The food served was very tasty. Mr Bilal is a hardworking lad and his service is excellent. On the whole it was an awesome experience.

We spent three wonderful days and nights in this peaceful and relaxing houseboat that is located right in the center of the more quiet Nagin Lake. The owners of the place are very friendly and helpful, and breakfast and dinners, served on the boat, were tasty. The boat faces the beautiful mountains locate east to the lake were the sun and the moon rise. This is the perfect place to relax from long roads and the hustle and bustle of crowded cities.

Ambience: 
Excellent Ambience...Nigeen lake is cleaner and more beautiful than Dal lake...The view from this house boat is best in the lake...Fantastic view...Shikaara ride in the lake soothing and takes u to another world...

Facilities:
TV, Wifi, Beds, Bathroom, hot water ...everything is provided...

Service and safety in Kashmir:
We had a personal attention from the owners Feroz ji (Son) and Bashir ji (father)...Especially Feroz is with us during our trip and explained the issues in Kashmir, guided us about different places, took us to different peoples houses...that has been a grt experience for us...We really liked the people of Kashmir...all very nice people...We were welcomed warmly to their houses whenever we need some help (Regarding our baby food or washroom etc)...We left our luggage inside our car even when we went to the locations...no theft, nothing...all people are nice (Unlike people in Delhi :) )... 

Food:
Food was tasty...but as we visited this place during the month of Ramzaan, we couldnt  get much variety in the breakfast...But, we were provided good delicious dinner with good variety...@Feroz ji and Bashir ji: Please incorporate some more variety in the breakfast :) ...Dinner was all fantastic...

Overall Recommendation:
I think this houseboat and these people are really nice...I strongly recommend this \m/

After a few days with the Baktoo family, owners and operators of the Golden Privilege Houseboat, we felt like a part of the family. Bashir is the Father and Farooz is the son. Both are extremely helpful and obliging.

We had all our meals, snacks and morning tea at the times we wished.. Farooz was very helpful in arranging access to the internet, and we were able to use our e-mail and connect with family and friends in Canada.

We have found Kashmir very safe, and the Kashmiri people friendly and hospitable, and the food goes from one delight to another!  

Our evening meals were both wholesome and plentiful and, liking spicy food, we were in heaven.   However, there are many delicious choices of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes to delight.  

We are both world-traveled and experienced in visiting many countries over the years, and we can speak most highly of Kashmir and its people. 

My husband worked in the movie business prior to retirement, in particular, building movie sets.  The Golden Privilege houseboat, given into our care for our stay, is not just a houseboat, it is like living inside a piece of artwork, and a joy for the eyes.  

The grandeur and beauty of the Golden Privilege cannot be described to do it justice.  There are three deluxe triple bedrooms and one suite room, all with walnut wood carvings covering the wall paneling and ceilings. The relief carving portrayed on the headboard of the majestic,four poster bed in the master bedroom depicts the story of what we were informed is the famous legend of the Maharajah.

The Golden Privilege is situated on the westerly side of Nigeen Lake, where it enjoys a peaceful, permanent mooring with abundant bird-life including three types of kingfisher, which we could watch all day.  The wonderful views can be made even more enjoyable from the roof-top seating area,, where we relaxed and took in the spectacular evening sunsets.  Our view of the Himalaya Mountains I(seemingly very close by) we found absolutely unforgettable, and a very rich part of our trip's experience to date.

We live in the town of Revelstoke in the Canadian Rockies, known for its beautiful scenery, but we most highly recommend enjoying the grandeur of the views from the Golden Privilege, and the family will assist in making sure that you access all the wonderful sights and experiences Srinagar has to offer.

Our visit was during mid to late March of 2017, and we were kept warm and comfortable at all times.  

In closing,, we highly recommend to you the Golden Privilege houseboat experience, and wonderful hosts, Bashir and Farooz Baktoo..  We would love to return!

We stayed here for a night the service was good thanks to Muzafil the caretaker very helpful always there,  never said no for anything. The view from the houseboat was mesmerising. I feel it’s a must staying in the houseboat, one night is enough because the mobility gets restricted. It was Ramzan when we went and they were fasting still the owner arranged for lunch mostly houseboats don’t arrange for lunch but they did, we are grateful as the food was also delicious homely. I will recommend  this place for the service they offer.
