Hotel & Apart 4 you

Marienhof is situated right in the centre of town with restaurants and shops only steps away. We found the rates very fair. The hotel and our room were clean. Our room could have used a bit in the way of a renovation though. The breakfast for a three star hotel was more than ample and had pretty much everything you would want. The one thing that threw us was the check-in procedure. We got to the hotel at around 2 in the afternoon and the door was locked. A note near the intercom said to phone a certain number. We did and were given a code to enter the hotel and were told that among the envelopes on the reception counter was one with a certain name and a key to a specific room. We were told we could have that room as that guest would be arriving later and by then the reception desk would be manned. When we got to the reception desk we saw a whole slew of envelopes with people's names or company names which had room keys. We found that not the most secure way to handle check-ins. The reception desk is not manned between 12:00 noon and 4:30 pm. and from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am. We took the envelope we were supposed to and went to the room. The room faced the street and since we sleep with the window open we knew that we'd not have a very restful night. We called the contact number again and there was no problem switching our room but we had to wait the 2 1/2 hours until someone came to man the reception desk. A little awkward...
