Feicui Inn

We were a group of six who arrived by train to Lijiang. The manager of the inn arranged for taxis to pick us up and bring us the edge of old town. No cars allowed in old town so it was quite a walk dragging luggage to the inn. Going back out we hired a cart to carry the luggage, I recommend hiring the cart for $20 yuan. The inn is around the corner from Mu's House on a quiet street which we preferred over the crowds at the town square. The inn is family owned and operated and the manager speaks perfect english and is very helpful. They serve a nice chinese style breakfast in the morning in the courtyard. They have a washing machine you can use. The inn is really lovely, especially the courtyard where everyone sits and talks. The bedrooms are gorgeous, very clean, nice bathrooms. We couldn’t get the heater to work in the room but it wasn’t really needed. Our friends used their heater without issue. Lijiang is very commercialized, every building is a store, an inn, a restaurant but it is so incredibly beautiful. Lots to see, interesting food to eat, the town is safe and the people friendly. My wife and friends did lots of shopping for local crafts and the prices are reasonable. We took a great day trip to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. I recommend the Naxi theatre near the town square, good local performers. For a view of real local life, walk down to the farmer’s market where the locals shop. For fun, ride a pony through the town.
