This is my second stay in La Guanaca. I stayed there in 2007 and again this year. The rooms had been completely remodeled since my last stay. They were spacious and clean, with excellent showers with hot water and lots of water pressure. The internet connection was great throughout the property. The location is good -- near everything. The breakfast is simple yet delicious. The best aspect of our stay was the manager, Ara. She is a runner, hiker and climber and gave us excellent advice regarding the trails. If you want super fancy with a huge breakfast buffet, this isn't your place. Oh, the views of Fitz Roy in the morning from the landing are outstanding. So if you seek a lovely stay in a local hosteria with comfortable rooms that is convenient to every place, I highly recommend La Guanaca.
