Lovely tranquil surroundings to relax and enjoy, with great snorkeling and a surf break out the front. Comfortable modern apartment with super friendly staff. I would definitely recommend staying there, do yourself a favour

We found these apartments  spacious, airy and clean with a beautiful and peaceful outlook, we loved our time there. There is a resort close by where you can dine out and another one about 3 kms away. 
 If a quiet holiday away from noise is what you're after, this place is perfect. The drive in on the dirt road is a bit rough but there are stalls with fresh fruit and kava to stop at and lots of friendly locals .

The apartments are spacious and very lovely with a sea view.  But be aware that the closest resort Eratap doesn't allow visitor to eat there before 11am so definitely take your own  breakfast.   Eratap and Aquana resort (3km away - 40 min walk) are good for lunch and evening meals. As  Koyu appts are a long way from anywhere so It'd be best to have your own transport. The caretaker of the appts Sarah is very nice tho and helped us out with a lift  a few times.

Spacious appartments, but a long way from anywhere.

Tranquil retreat

When we got there, there was no hot water and no the gas stove wasn't working. We contacted the manager and apparently they had forgotten to reconnect the gas. It took about 3 hours but they did get someone out there to fix it, but even thereafter, the hot water only worked for about one minute before it became very cold and then needed some time before it would warm up again. 

Also they forgot to hook up the TV and to leave the USB device full of movies, so someone had to come out. 

And the wifi initially did not work because it only allows a limited number of devices and the people next door were connected and using up all the connections. We asked them if they could ask the people next door to limit their usage but instead, they said that it should work the next day when those people checked out. Even then, it was so slow that it was hard to even answer emails. 

The apartment is 30 minutes from town and about 20 minutes down a very bumpy dirt road. We had to rent a 7500 vatu per day car just to get there. Taxis cost about 3900 one way. Apparently there are some busses, but this information was not included before we booked, and even then, they run intermittently. There is nothing else out there as far as stores or businesses and only one restaurant near by at an expensive resort. 

The apartment was otherwise very spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the balcony was nice with a barbeque. 

This place is not on the beach nor is it really "across" from the beach as it is not accessible without walking down the road. The beach there is not really swim able and the beach is Rocky with shells. 

Hot water doesn't work properly! 

My partner and I booked a few days here between Xmas and NY, after spending some time in Port Vila.

Upon arrival, we knocked and called out but got no reply. We called Sarah and she said she was twenty minutes away and would call us back in a minute. We waited fifteen minutes and called her again, and she now said someone should be home. We knocked and called out again and this time someone came out and said the key to our room was in the door. We didn't know where to go so he took us up to the room. Not a great start but never mind.

Inside, the place was tired-looking and a bit underwhelming. The outdoor area was and bathroom was both quite dirty. The fan switch at the entry was broken with exposed live wires. We unpacked and headed towards the beach to get familiar with the surroundings. We came back and there were people in the room replacing several of the ceiling fans. This took up the apartment for most of the first afternoon.

From there things got worse. The water didn't work half of the time, and when it did it was almost always cold. While this wasn't the only issue, it was the biggest one for us, so we emailed Sarah about it but didn't get a response.

Over the next couple of days, more issues arose; the pots/pans/plates/cutlery had only been half-heartedly cleaned so we learned to clean everything before use. The shower recess was filthy with mold and soap scum. The TV didn't have an aerial cable. The kettle was broken with bits of plastic falling apart into the water. The bbq was dirty and uncleaned from the last use. They only supplied a single roll of toilet paper for a 5-day stay for two people. The apartment isn't serviced but they don't provide a broom or anything else to keep it clean yourself. You get one bath towel for your stay- no replacements and no laundry facilities to wash them. Dogs from the neighbouring apartments were walking in and out of our apartment all the time, once eating food from the table.

More generally, the location isn't great (a bit remote) but we knew that when we booked. It's a three-minute walk to the beach which is pretty and private but not great for swimming (shallow with coral and a strong rip). The furniture is mostly cheap and damaged and the apartment is showing signs of poor maintenance (water stains, rust, missing knobs etc).

After two days with intermittent water supply and no hot water, we called to check up on it being fixed and to raise some of the issues above. Nicole said she would give us a 50% refund on the accommodation and would speak to Sarah about the other issues and call us back shortly. We didn't get a call. We sent a follow-up email but didn't receive a response. 

We finished our last couple of days and checked out. It's now a week later and we've emailed a few more times but still have not received a response.

We've given Sarah and Nicole ample opportunity to avoid a review like this but with the issues and the complete lack of response to them, they clearly have no intention of providing a decent experience for their guests.  

I would avoid this place like the plague. Hands down the worst accommodation experience we've ever had.

Dirty, tired and rude. AVOID!

This accomodation provider is very unreliable. I had a booking for the 26th of December and Koyu cancelled my reservation on Christmas Eve! (24th of December) I had to sought alternative accomodation very last minute and I am currently waiting for a resolution from Booking.com as Koyu took a partial payment in advance that has not been refunded yet.
