Beamish Mary Inn

This inn was ideal for the beamish museum, and yes the owner is in the process of bringing the inn up to standard, but our ensuite room was very clean and comfortable and that means a lot to us. Alan showed us to our room which was number 4 and he was very acommodating and friendly. We stayed for 1 night and after a fullday at the museum we booked in at the Mary and enjoyed a few drinks and had a lovely time chatting with a local couple, Rhian was so lovely and chatty as was deb. We were made to feel welcome. We booked an evening meal here too and I must say the menu is amazing and when our meal came out, well it blew us away as the portions were generous and it was all freshly cooked and anyone who complains about the food is not being fair at all. The bed was very comfortable and the room nicely heated . Our stay included a full english and again it did not disappoint, Simon the owner cooked it and it was wonderful we were fully satisfied. We then spent some time chatting with Simon and it was very interesting and he is such a lovely man who took time to tell us a little about the history of no place and about his plans for the Mary inn, which in all fairness to them must be difficult to carry out with the amount of bookings they have over the coming months. We will definitely be coming back to stay and thankyou Simon for recommending the Scottish book which I look forward to reading even though we are Welsh we are all celts 🤣. Excellent value for money and lovely people and the best food by far, you certainly get your moneys worth. See you again.
