This is the third time we have stayed here and again it didn’t disappoint.
Very good value for money with a lovely breakfast included.
This time we had an evening meal in the restaurant which was excellent.
All staff are very nice and they even supply water bottles for those cold evenings.
A perfect place to stay for closeness to Leek and the Derby Dales

Absolutely Fantastic

This Hotel is a perfect find. 
The Hotel is lovely. It is dog friendly ( not that I have a dog ) but a plus for those who do. 
The rooms are very clean and warm, good tea , coffee facilities in the room with biscuits. Great shower. 
The staff are also first class and friendly. 
Then there's the outdoors , who could ask for more. The walk around the lake 5.6 miles is all pretty much flat going underfoot a d there's plenty of people to chat too en route. 

All in all a fantastic find for an overnight or weekend stay.

Nice small cosy room with shower.  No window with view though but my son and his girlfriend had a lovely bay window with views and a big bathroom. Staff very nice and courteous and nothing we requested was too much for them.  We are very appreciative.  Though having said that we had an early flight at 6.00 am and we were told we could request a packed breakfast which we did but unfortunately, they had a misunderstanding, and it was not prepared.  But apart from that I could not complain.  Very quiet in the countryside.  You need a car to go anywhere.  But there were a few tourists' sights while walking in the countryside.  My son and his girlfriend went walking and saw what a beautiful place it was.  We had kettle and biscuits which were replaced every time we ate them.  No phone in room.
We had our breakfasts and other meals in the hotel which were very good, good quality and normal prices.
We chose this hotel as it was very near to a wedding we were attending at the Ashes Barn.

Lunch with friends, atmosphere lovely had a great table in the window with plenty of room as we had a baby and a dog with us. Food was great and staff so friendly and helpful. Definitely our favourite place for lunch and a catch up!

We came to rudyard lake for a walk last week with family and stopped at the Hotel Rudyard for breakfast, wow I could not believe it! I have not been there in about 10 years it’s been totally transformed! Absolutely stunning, the breakfast was to die for! In particular the sausages wow, the best I’ve ever tasted, and we all agreed. The service was impeccable and I’ve spotted the pods outside they look stunning, I can not wait to come back again to try out the rest of the menu.

Flew in for a wedding. I arrived a day early and the greeting was great.
They then got extremely busy (which made me happy to watch the buzz) my room wasn’t ready but they did there best to fast track me with zero fuss (thank you)
Had a delicious meal that night with the bridal party.
Breakfast was delicious and the service throughout was great.
The wedding commenced and all ran smoothly.
Food was awesome the service was as professional as they had been trained.
Service needs to go up level, white wine was left on the table (actually not even opened) no Ice buckets were offered. When requested they supplied a Wine Cooler with ice in the bottom 🤦‍♀️ (Get some actual wine buckets)
No water was offered and no continuous service was apparent.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
A few hours closed for training will take you to the next level. You have the enthusiasm of a great team.

Almost there.

We’ve walked around Rudyard lake many times but have not called in the hotel as we have dogs who normally get quite wet and muddy following the walk but we should have been in here  before there was a great friendly welcome for us and our two scruffy dogs. The carvery was wonderful. The hotel is quite a stunning building and was spotless inside including the areas where we were which was dog friendly.  There are several areas consisting of lounges, bar and carvery. We will definitely be going again.

We stayed just 1 night with our walking group. 
POSITIVES  (1) The evening meal was surprisingly good, much better than I expected 
(2)The waiting staff were very pleasant and efficient 
(3) The cooked breakfast was good 

NEGATIVES  
(1) after dinner we gathered in the bar, there was litter, dropped dirty teaspoon, a dirty plastic bowl under the table which looked made the bar look scruffy. Just a couple of minutes with a sweeping brush would have solved it. 
(2) the tables weren’t set for breakfast so we had to keep asking for cutlery, cups & saucers etc. They’d make life easier for themselves if tables were preset.
(3)The help yourself breakfast bar was PITIFUL Orange juice just one jug, hardly any cereals. No fruit, pastries or croissants etc
(4) the bedroom was very shabby, old pine furniture very poorly painted. Pipework covered in plastic casing on view. Washbasin in the bedroom not in the tiny  cupboard sized bathroom! No radiator in there either. 
(5) the heating  in the room was on when we arrived in the afternoon but did not come on again throughout our stay.
(6) the electricity went off in the morning whilst my husband was in the shower and was off for about 25 minutes.
Overall I was disappointed with the stay particularly as I had read the following article and had high hopes.

CHEAP MAKEOVER

Brilliant place, the staff were helpful and extremely polite, and the room was nice and warm all night (it was less than minus 5 degrees outside), I can’t fault the place. The room had a jacuzzi bath, that was different. The restaurant downstairs was excellent with an extensive choice of food, it was an enjoyable stay and also loved the breakfast. 

Someone did tell me before I went to this place that it looked a bit tired and dated but clearly the whole place has had extensive renovations and a lot of investment has been made, it was lovely inside and very modern
