Wood Advent Farm

We spent a long weekend at Wood Advent, Arrived and was welcomed with a cup of tea and some cake on the patio after being shown to our room. Beautiful farmhouse and well kept grounds coupled with a lovely bit of September sunshine made for a lovely start to the break. Diana had already booked us a table at a local hostelry so no need to hunt around for somewhere to have a meal. The farm is down a single track lane that rises through the woods from Roadwater which poses no problems if driven carefully and with consideration that you may well meet other cars or walkers. Breakfast is superb with excellent service, lots of options depending on your needs. The cooked breakfast is just the start to the day I wanted. The dining room was well spaced out allowing free movement without getting close to others. The bedroom was well equipped and clean and particularly good to find all windows open, the bathroom was clean and well prepared and good to see, in the present climate, no toiletries. Although we did not use them, there are two comfortable lounges where you can relax and read one of the many books that are available both in the lounges and around the property. On returning from our days excursions we were again welcomed by Diana with tea and cake ( Diana's apple and sultana cake is heavenly ! ) A totally relaxing weekend and superbly looked after by the hosts, many thanks for everything, we will be back
