Stunning place. Beautiful scenery/views. Brockwood hall is very picturesque and scenic. The peacocks are so cool! The little reception/shop is really helpful and handy - the peacock food is brilliant! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Brockwood hall has been a beautiful base for us to go out exploring with a hot tub to come back to. Very clean and well maintained - perfect accommodation and the food in the restaurant on site was amazing. I would highly recommend this place and would revisit.

Perfect scenic base for a stay in the lakes

Absolutely fantastic accommodation and location by far the best place we have visited in england. All the staff (and 🦚)are really friendly and helpful complementary dog treats etc what a wonderful weekend. We hope to return soon

It was ok. A solid 3. Kind of a glorified campground. That’s fine if that’s what you’re expecting, but the RCI website made it seem like a luxury villa. It is not. The food at the restaurant is excellent! 

Camping In.

Visited just after the resort and surrounding area had experienced unusually heavy snow causing road and other chaos. However, the resort was open, and they did all they could to help us have a great stay. You need a car here, the onsite food was excellent, and the little shop has all the essentials. Hot tub and unit were spotless. A great place for a getaway.

Been here about 7 times now ....its a pleasure to stay ...quiet ,relaxing,super food in the bar ,friendly staff ,handy for walks and the beach 
Lodges may vary abit ,my dogs love it ,will be back soon !

Great relaxing experience 

I booked this last year for my husband and I to get away with the dogs for a Monday to Friday. 
The site is gorgeous, we arrived earlier than check in, our lodge wasn’t quite ready so we went for a quick drink in the bar and then a walk around the site with the dogs. 
The staff are all super friendly and they managed to get our lodge ready sooner than the check in time which was really nice of them! 
We were saying in the Bassenthwaite Lodge. As advised the hot tub wasn’t up to temperature until the following morning, this is due to them being fully drained and cleaned after check out, but you’re warned of this so it wasn’t a suprise. 
The lodge was well equipped and very modern. We had a double bedroom with an en suite, and then two more rooms with two single beds in each. There is a  main bathroom with a bath and shower too. The living area is spacious with a dining table and fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. Some tea and coffee as well as milk was provided on arrival and some dog biscuits, which is always lovely after a 7 hour drive! 
The water pressure is great, the oven works really well! Sometimes you have to wait hours for them to heat but this was super quick. 
The balcony/decking area is fully enclosed which is good when you have dogs, no chance of them disappearing off. 
There are some quite harsh reviews I feel, this is probably the best dog friendly lodge we’ve stayed in and I honestly don’t know what people are complaining about. It was clean on arrival, plenty of towels etc too, one for the hot tub and one for the bathroom for each guest in each room. 
The site is well maintained too! 
There are free roaming peacocks who like to visit the balconies so just be aware of that if you have dogs, I wouldn’t want them coming to any harm if you have a pup with a high prey drive! 
Most of the lakes are within an hours drive! 
Lovely relaxing stay, I would come again.

Relaxing, dog friendly park!

We had a beautiful and relaxing break . My husband , myself and 2 dogs really loved this place and will definitely book again . 
So quiet , well maintained . The hot tub was perfect and cleaned daily . 
The lodge itself was beautiful , clean , well stocked . 
I  can’t  speak highly enough ,the staff were so helpful
And friendly whenever we saw them around . 
Peacocks roaming freely were lovely to watch too . 
We used the shop which was ok for  essentials we didn’t go in the bar /restaurant. 
If you want a quiet , relaxing stay with breath taking scenery this is the place . 
We had to travel a bit for a couple of days out but that wasn’t a problem x

Beautiful place with breathtaking scenery. So relaxing .

Very friendly, clean and with all amenities we could need. A convenient shop, place to walk the dog, and a really good restaurant. We tried the local steak, battered fish, and pizza. All were excellent. The staff are all very helpful and great with conversation and tips on where to visit in the local area, which offered a lot of options for walks. The lodge was compact but had everything needed. The location is set in wonderful woodland and lawn with flowers abundantly situated. We thoroughly recommend this place

Brockwood Hall and restaurant

We have just returned home from our stay ,lodge was nice and clean a few stains on carpets and tables /dressing tables but that’s to be expected, restaurant on site which I understand is not connected to the hall is pleasant we only ate once there but was nice,reception staff very friendly and welcoming, the views were spectacular from our balcony, we were in the whicham lodge,so had Mountain View’s and could see all the way down to the sea,we only have a few negatives, there was no coffee machine which was stated was in lodge, hot water pressure was terrible took 30 min to run a bath , the play area needs more it’s literally a swing slide and little climbing frame, can’t have more than 2 kids on it at most, shop extremely basic , we ended up going into town to the Tesco for our shopping, which is only very small don’t expect a super store , you are very isolated and if you want to do anything you have to travel, we went to south lakes zoo which was around 30 minutes away and a railway ( can’t remember the name) on the coast again about 30 minutes away and had the most amazing ice cream at a little cafe there , they make hand made ice cream it’s a hidden gem all within walking distance from the train station,the welcome pack you get consist of a few teas coffees sugars and sweetners but not many, 4 small Kendal mint cakes ,small milk and large bottle of volvic, around 5 dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid, the toiletries were a shampoo shower gel and bar of soap,hair dryer was provided,also take great care driving to to lodges it’s very winding single road which has high hedges and trees and it’s the way in and out so can’t see if someone is coming up / down when driving on it we had to reverse up/ down the road quite a few times cause of oncoming traffic, overall stay was ok but because of the lack of things to do on site we won’t be returning but if you want an isolated get away this is the place for you

Breathtaking views

Lovely clean lodge. Hot tub and sauna great. Loved the peacocks. Had to travel for things to do, walks, and went to the waterfall. Went in for food, was not very nice so went elsewhere. Chips were awful. Very quiet and peaceful stay. Only problem was food and the lid on hot tub, no handle or anything to help you lift it back on. Needed 4 us to put back on. And fire didnt work. Apart from that, great. Thank you.
