Swandown Lodges

We visited Swandown Lodges for a family break and were pleasantly surprised by the spacious, modern surroundings and the lovely grounds. The property we stayed in was dog friendly, which was great as we had our aussiedoodle with us. There were some lovely walks for him on the property. Decor in the lodge was clean and modern. And as a clean freak, I was pleased to see that the whole place was spotlessly cleaned and tidy. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could want to cook a meal - which again was important as we ate in the lodge every evening. In the grounds there is a small reception building with a selection of dvds, games, books etc. And a small honesty shop for essentials. There is also a small swimming pool which can be booked for 40 minutes sessions using a booking system in the reception area. It’s really pretty small, but my youngest child enjoyed visiting each day. Regarding local activities - there is plenty to do in the area. Our favourite day out was to go fossil hunting at Charmouth. We also had a lovely day walking from Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door - would highly recommend for the views alone! Overall I would say that Swandown Lodges are a great place to stay to visit the surrounding areas of Dorset, Somerset and Devon.
