The Golden Fleece

We arrived after a long drive, pleased that the Inn was not too far from the motorway. The Inn was easy to find and set in wonderful countryside. There was plenty of parking, and we were offered complimentary drinks on arrival. We were made to feel very welcome, and chose to make a reservation in the restaurant that evening. Our room was very pleasant, the bed very comfortable with an en suite bathroom with a superb shower. The manager James, informed us that all the food was sourced locally as he showed us to our table. The quality of the food was superb, and very generous portions too. So impressed were we, that we decided to eat in the restaurant the following night as well. The inn proved to be a very good base to explore the remains of Hadrian’s Wall. The lady who was making up our room, took time to share her local knowledge, advising us on the best places to visit and giving us precise directions. Most helpful indeed. We had a wonderful stay at the Inn and will definitely visit again. Breakfast catered for all tastes. The full English cooked breakfast was superb and plentiful. We both really enjoyed our stay at the Golden Fleece Inn, and complement the staff and the chef, for making our visit so pleasant.
