Town House by the Sea

The facilities were comfortable, the design of the place is terrific and we found the proprietress and her housekeeper to be charming and very, very helpful. The room we stayed in was well appointed with a fridge, kettle and plates/silverware, a coffee table and chairs and a balcony (also with a table and chairs...great place to have a meal or coffee and watch the sunrise). Two bottles of water were replenished daily. Coffee likely is as well, but we walked to a variety of nearby coffee or noodle shops for our morning fix. There’s a blackout curtain on the window, an extremely comfortable bed (I see where others thought it hard, we loved it) and efficient air conditioning. We stayed in the room overlooking Prachuap bay, and enjoyed the sunrise and watching folks from the comfort of the balcony. The location is perfect. Seriously, it’s marvelous. You’re close enough to town to be able to walk to shops/restaurants, just across from the promenade and the water. We walked along the seawall each morning and made the hike up to the monkey temple twice. Great exercise! If you’re a very light sleeper, the occasional motorcycle or tuktuk going by might cause some difficulty sleeping—as they did for my husband—but I had no issues whatsoever. As others have mentioned, this is a room in a private home, and you go to your (locked) is quarters through the family living room. We liked this from a security standpoint, We didn’t get to meet Thierry, but Kat took time off from her workday to give us a driving tour of Prachuap—which we loved so much we considered keeping it a secret. she even assisted with onward transportation! We were sad to leave and would gladly return to the Townhouse by the Sea.
