Mountain Heaven

We just stayed at this lovely hotel in Ella for 2 nights. The rooms are spacious and some rooms have huge balconies with the most stunning views of Ella gap. It's truly breathtaking. There is a shortcut along the train line to the town which only takes 5 mins. Breakfast was excellent and generous and you the restaurants also has both western and Sri Lankan options.  The AyurvedA massage place and the bar/ restaurant around the corner from the hotel was also really good. Highly recommend this hotel in Ella

The view! Wow, I don’t think you’ll beat the view from this hotel anywhere! Fortunate to be upgraded to a junior suite which was just beautiful. Great breakfast included. Convenient location just a few minutes walk from the main town. Helpful staff.

Amazing views! Hotel is up a little hill, easily accessed by taxis or tuk tuks. The view from the pool and our room and balcony was unreal! Beautiful nature all around, including a waterfall. The staff were very friendly. The pool is lovely for a dip or to lounge beside with a cocktail or book. It’s a boutique hotel so theres not too many people around the pool. The food was tasty with friendly waiters. Our room was huge with an amazing view and big balcony and chairs. There was a slight stale smell of cigarettes in it though. Ella is a cool town with a nice buzz about it. There’s lots of attractions to visit nearby.

The first thing you see is the amazing view. Then you go to your rooms and you are wowed by the size! 
But the view is the main feature!! Ever changing and you can even have a swim without breaking the view! 
Most rooms (maybe all!?) have the view and even the restaurant/bar have the same outlook! 
We were traveling in a tour bus which couldn’t take us to the door due to thin steep roads but tuk tuks do the job and it’s way fun travelling up that way!!

Firstly we would like to thank the staff who work at this hotel and provided excellent and professional  service to us at all times during our stay. Mr Shammika (manager) Natinda (reception) and Kearth (restaurant).
The hotel is located in the mountainside in Ella. The views are spectacular. If you dine in the hotel restaurant you can relax while viewing the beautiful Sri Lankan countryside and the nearby waterfall. 
The hotel is near the railway line which leads to the Nine Arches. 
The breakfast menu was very varied and could be pre booked the night before for a set time and menu. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and clean , however  some of the furnishings require some small upgrades.

The staff were wonderful and the hotel facilities and location and views were amazing.

The staff in reception were so helpful and guided us on things to do and not do.

The rooms were spacious and clean. I would not hesitate in recommending this to family and friends.

A lovely hotel with the best view from a dining room that I have ever had - and I have travelled quite a lot!  Every breakfast was a real pleasure!
Well appointed rooms, very friendly and helpful staff.
It is outside the main part of Ella, so it’s quiet - but a short walk in to town along the railway (much quicker than the road).  There are not many trains, and they are slow, so it’s safe to walk along the tracks.

It’s the first hotel in my trip who didn’t ask about review here and I want to write it with the biggest desire. My room was amazing, wonderful, comfortable, so fresh, cozy and best part of it is view from my balcony. The reception desk is so helpful and polite, I was glad to meet service like that. Thank you again that helped me with charger for phone. Of course restaurant was really nice. I enjoyed my breakfast 🤍 and I got attention and help from everyone there. These people can do their work, thank you for your service!

Lovely hotel with nice breakfast/lunch, bar. View is amazing from pool. Staff friendly and attentive. Massive bedrooms. Quickest way to walk into town is via rail track. A-lot  of stairs to get to rooms but that is no harm as breakfast is very hearty.

We had an excellent experience with Mountain Heavens.

Mithun who served breakfast was a great guy with friendly service.
