Good location. good service, correct rooms. Quite espace with the jungle as a soundtrack. I enjoyed very much. It could be better, of course. I only miss AC at the rooms if you want to sleep cooler. For me it was a surprise.

Excellent location, the real medigama, fr from the noisy road

Nice house, very close to the train station and the beach. The owners are lovely and the breakfast served in the beautiful garden is very good and cozy. I highly recommend this accommodation. Very nice family.

Ritz Surf Lodge is a brilliant place to stay. It is close to the beach and everything you need yet is calm, quiet and tranquil. 
Big tasty breakfasts overlooking the tropical, bird filled garden. The family are the sweetest and so helpful. They organised a bbq for us and our friends who were staying nearby. Very tasty fresh fish! They lent us snorkels and Pradeep even showed us the best place to go.
The rooms are clean, spacious and comfy, especially for the price. The showers are hot and have a good pressure. Definitely recommend staying here, so much better than the other places we saw.

Fantastic place to stay in Midigama

There are 3 major drawbacks to popular accommodation establishments in Midigama. Most are on the main road, which make them ultra noisy. Think trucks and horns in full volume on a minutely basis. Then there are cave-rooms with tiny to no windows at all. And then there's the water pressure problem. Most have showers that just drip on you. Ritz got all 3 solved. Located in the back of the village in a super quiet location but still only few minutes walk from the beach, rooms are big and airy with proper windows. And the shower - it sprays water on you in just the right power. Other than that, this place is ran by the most adorable family. It's actually their house where you can get rooms in, not a hotel per-se. This was intriguing for me at first but I found out they are completely not intrusive, keep your privacy religiously, and are always there for help. They will rent you scooter, care for taxi reservations, and make you a great breakfast every morning. It will default to continental - ask for the Sri Lankan, you won't regret. Only downside - your heart will be broken when you leave. 

In love with this place

For the price (we paid 30 francs per night including breakfast) this guesthouse is very good, but you can't expect luxury! The room was spacious and clean enough. It was a shame that the bathroom was flooded during the shower and that there was no mosquito net around the bed. In addition, the room was not cleaned during the day. Unfortunately, the wifi didn't work in the room, only in the living room right in front of it. The breakfast is very delicious. The family lives on the other side of the house, the guests are on the first floor. The owner is very friendly and has given himself a great deal of effort. He provided an adapter on call and also a tuk-tuk for the convenient further journey.

Very cheap and simple but good!

The host Pradeep is a very good guy. Hes helpful and super friendly. The room was awesome but wifi is a little slow when the TV is running which it is most of the day but it was good at night. Breakfast was nice and they catered to your needs. House itself is very modern and beautiful. I would definitely come back to Ritz next time i visit Sri Lanka

Beautiful accommodation in South Sri Lanka

When we first arrived to Sri Lanka, we've stayed in a guest house just down the road to Ritz Surf. We had a terrible experience there, so we simply walked in to this beautiful house to ask if they have available rooms. The owners are one of the sweetest people we had the opportunity to meet, they were super helpful, showing us around and fulfilling all our wishes (like extra rug and table to the room). The rooms are wide and simply furnished, just what we were looking for. The bathroom is also spacious, clean, and most importantly, it had good pressure with hot water!! It may seem like a basic condition, however once you come to southern  Sri Lanka, you learn that it is a privilege. The beach is close by, we rented scooters to visit more beaches, but anyone can easily walk down to the nearby beach in 5 minutes. The room includes breakfast with different fresh juices daily, eggs and toast or roti, which is plentiful. Overall, beautiful house, garden and amazing experience to stay here, i can only recommend!!
