Parador de Málaga Golf

The Parador is beautiful. It was my first time visiting recently. I wasn't sure what to expect. The hotel is less than 10 minutes in a taxi or car from Málaga airport. It cost me around €13 in the early afternoon. The hotel upon arrival was impressive. Check in was fast and easy and they allowed me to check in early, which was much appreciated. The man on reception was lovely and helpful. My room was beautiful. Spacious and bright, with quality furnishings and a huge bed. I appreciated the addition of two lounge chairs and a desk. I loved the floor tiles. Soft furnishings were luxurious. Lighting in the room was plentiful. The minibar prices surprised me. They genuinely were most affordable, with a Fanta being around the €2.4 mark. The view from my room was that of the Mediterranean Sea and the pool. I loved the balcony. I did use the pool and it was as nice as it looked. The lifeguard on duty was helpful and kind. We were joined in the pool by an array of birds, including the gorgeous green parrots. I usually find the green parrots are shy and like to hide, but here in Málaga they were happily sat round the pool. Sunloungers are placed around the lawns. As a plus size person, I can feel a bit self conscious sunbathing abroad in my swimwear, but didn't feel that at all here and I enjoyed using the facilities very much. I visited the bar whilst there, and while service was slow to begin with even though the bar was near empty, once I was served, the waiter was friendly and informative. I ordered some croquettes in the bar. They were delicious. I later had a dinner reservation. The setting under the canopy outside was perfect, with waiting staff friendly. The menu had some great choices on. The seabass I opted for was delicious and cooked on the outdoor traditional grill. I had goats cheese cheesecake to finish and it was also delicious. Apart from bread being added to my bill when I didn't have it, dinner was perfect. It was magical sitting outdoors in this very special place and I wish I had booked more nights at the hotel so I could try more things on the menu but alas, my flight was scheduled. As a solo diner, I can sometimes feel out of place amongst couples and families, but I didn't here and other diners were so friendly here. My stay had to come to an end, but I have vowed to myself to return to this wonderful place one day soon.
