Really great value and amazing location. Would recommend getting a room with a balcony - this was a great way to feel immersed in the surroundings. Our room had black-out shutters which made it really easy to sleep. As Brits, the only thing we missed were kettles in the room! (But there is a boiling water tap in the foyer). Lovely reception staff as well. Thanks!

Great experience and great location 

Check-in was great but always ask for senior front desk manager , the guy we encountered didn't tell us all the information we needed. The hotel is clean, room service is also great. Wifi is not that much fast. Air conditioning system work perfectly. 

Reception is on first floor,  so we are forced to carry on our luggage, luggage lift works after first floor.

This hotel is terrible. Someone hack my acount and i write imediately an email for the hotel to cancel imediately the reservation but thay didnt make anyaction. When i arrived i told them what happend and the man at the front desk didnt make anythink. And chanrge from my a ount the amount. Dont go there. All around are so many other hotel with the perfect staf, very helpful so educated. Hostal Levande is the best. Trust me.


This is a terrible hotel. Never go there.

I only paid £130 for three nights in a single room, which is a really good price for a big tourist city like Barcelona. The room was very small but had everything I needed, including a little balcony. The building was very traditional so you felt very much part of the city. Only tiny issues were my bathroom door was a bit difficult to slide, and you could hear the plumbing/water draining from other rooms at busy times. But still, for the price I thought it was great. Every time I came back from being out, the porter had my key waiting ready for me - with so many different rooms I don't know how he managed this but it was a lovely touch. Location great and I left my case on the first and last day whilst sightseeing with no charge.

Great budget option for a city break

If you are looking for perfect location in Barcelona, this is the right place. A few steps from Las Ramblas, Gothic Quartier and Merquat de la Bouqueria. A few steps from metro station, about 25min walk to the beach.. There are amazing bakeries around for breakfast and coffe. We had a very small room, but it was clean and they made a housekeeping every day,changed the towels daily, made a bed... we didn't expected it in this  hotel category. Stuff was helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our small romantic balcony for a glass of wine in the evening. The view from balcony to Spanish street  make you feel like you live there...so traditional. I loved it.
Only negative was that we miss a fridge and there was not a lot of space for our clothes...and honestly we didn't have a lot,we stayed just for 3nights.
You can leave your luggage there before check in and after check in, this was really helpful for us. 
I would book again because of perfect location,friendly atmosphere and traditional feeling. Great place to stay.


Traditional in amazing location

We only stayed one night but it was perfect. Really clean, good aircon, free cold water, small balcony, free WiFi and it felt safe there. One night for two people (2 beds which I loved as well) were pretty cheap as well. Everyone gets a small and a big towel for free too.
The guy at the reception is awesomely nice - I really felt so comfy there. 24 hour reception
The location is extremely good, just two minutes walk to the metro station liceu, but it’s still quiet at night so u can sleep easily 
I would always come back here

Not the easiest place to find initially , but could not fault the excellent location of this hostel. Our room was small and very basic. No balcony, only a window looking out over the reception , so no fresh air. I would recommend paying the bit extra for a deluxe room / room with balcony for comfort. Nothing fancy, basic and clean. For the price we paid I couldn’t complain! Would recommend for budget travelers. 24 hour reception, as door is locked at night. Pleasant staff. Lots of restaurants etc nearby. If your looking for luxery this isn’t for you, but a good base for exploring Barcelona.

Central location.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my partner and one of our friends, our room was lovely, however we paid for a superior room £25 extra, do this or you will get a bad room like our friend. His room was super dated and had view of the ac units in a courtyard. 
We had 2 balconies and a modern room. 
Staff are great, friendly and welcoming. They don't have a mini fridge in the room which is annoying and no iron for your clothes, should really get one, small expense but a great service to offer.

Great place to stay and very central

I stayed 2 nights. I chose this hostal mainly for cost and convenience. Hostal is 4 mins walk from Liceu metro station and is located at one of the side street off La Ramblas. I booked a single room with private shower. Room size of 10 square metre is the smallest room I ever stayed. Have to place my luggage bag on the floor. Bring your toiletries as there is none. The bed and general cleanliness is OK. 

The positives - there is a lift for luggage, hence no need to carry it. Room has a safe using traditional key. The main gate is always locked, need to press a button for the staff to open it.

The negative - the Wifi password is so long, 20 random characters and numbers. It took me a while to enter it correctly. 

Overall it is ok if your aim is just to shower and rest for the night in this no frill budget hostal.

Small room, no frill budget hostal

We loved staying here. It is more like a little hotel rather than a typical hostel, pretty quiet too. Very central. It had everything we needed. No breakfast but there are so many places around town to eat even a carrefour supermarket so that was great too. The staff was friendly and the bathroom was fresh and clean. Would stay here again.
